Alright guys, time for another quiz!  The first person to post with all of the correct answers wins GameRanger Premium Membership for a year!  It doesn't matter if you already are Premium or not, you will either get a new Premium membership or I will set it up with Evill to extend your current membership by a year.

Here are the questions:

1.  In Ghost Recon, you can be a demolitions soldier and carry the M136....what do members of the U.S. Army actually call this weapon?

2.  What was the first military force in the world to adopt the Glock pistol as its primary handgun?

3.  Who is the most highly decorated person in U.S. Military history (hint, he is dead)?

4.  Who are the only two father-and-son Medal of Honor recipients (hint--this is two fathers-and-sons....so there are 4 people that should be listed here)?

5.  What mainstay of the Ford auto line will be discontinued for regular retail production after the 2004 model year (Hint--it WILL continue as a fleet vehicle)?

6.  What was the fastest man-made (and manned) object ever to fly in Earth's atmosphere?

7.  "Don't Run, You'll Just Die Tired" is the motto of what school?

8.  What is the chamber pressure of the M-16A2 when fired?

9.  What is special about the plastic hand-grips on the M-16A2 versus the ones that were on the M-16A1?

10.  Out of all the *DAMN Battle League Admins (this does not include admins from any other part of the forum), which one is the biggest punk (this is an opinion question, so any answer is technically correct--also, let it be known that some of them don't qualify as "punks" at all)?

*Bonus Question--You get nothing special for this bonus except a tremendous amount of respect, admiration, and affection from me for getting it right:

Who makes the plastic hand grips on the M-16?

P.S. Anybody who has previously won a quiz is not allowed to participate in this one.

And this explains a high amount of unusual PM's I've received this afternoon.

7) Sniper School, JFK Center for Special Warfare

8) 52000 PSI (you're going to have to look this one up yourselves, I believe this is the answer)

Just a clue for some of you.

Answer #6 can't be something that didn't make it into double digit Mach numbers.  I think it's around Mach 17 ish (16.5 at a minimum)

The correct answer has already been given for Question 6.....Psycho, Ross, and Bloody Brit all have that one right.  So no, the Space Shuttle is not it.

5.? Crown Victoria

Hey, the space shuttle is a lifting body, same as the X15, and hits the atmosphere at around Mach 17 or so when it actually has to start "flying".

So it is "flown in earth's atmosphere", and it is manned.  And it is going a butt load faster.  You didn't say it was exclusively flown in earths atmosphere, and while flying in the atmosphere it has to perform breaking maneuvers to slow it down from Mach 17 to Mach 1.

BTW, while it orbit, it's going more like Mach 25.

So, as asked, the Space Shuttle is the right answer GS, even if you weren't thinking of it when you asked the question Smiley

     52,000 PSI

9.  What is special about the plastic hand-grips on the M-16A2 versus the ones that were on the M-16A1?
Redesigned for better grip and increased durability. Ribbed and round instead of smooth and triangular. Composed of two identical halves.

1)AT4

2) Austrian's

3)   After intensive searching, I discovered that the 'most decorated' title is given to alot of people. In fact, it is entirely based upon opinion it seems, with no real clear winner listed anywhere. Due to this, I have listed those Who were listed in various places as the highest decorated.

Now first and foremost, I would say Audie Murphy. However, I have been told he was only the highest decorated WWII serviceman although many people think he was the highest decorated of all time.

General Douglas MacArther was the most highly decorated officer ever. Unfortunatly there is no information on the number of decorations so I can't verify if he is indeed the most highly decorated soldier.

Col. George "Bud" Day is the second highest decorated officer ever with 70 citations, holding every significant combat award.

4)Theodore Roosevelt and his son,  General Theodore Roosevelt and General Douglas MacArthur and his father,  General Arthur MacArthur.

5)the Taurus

6)X-15: Major Robert M. White(Mach 4,5,&6) (neil Armstrong unofficially went to Mach 6.7)

7) JFK Center for Special Warfare, Sniper School, Ca 1976

8 ) 52000psi

9 )After ALOT of asking around on AA, it appears the plastic grip is not only more durable (as noted on almost every site on the net) but was also much more comfortable, made it easier to grip, and thus increased the accuracy of the users. The reason for this? it was ribbed. This was specifically designed with vietnam-like warfare in mind, where the m16 revealed it problems in all their glory. Apparantly, during combat, without the ribs they are difficult to grip and uncomfotable. Especially when wet or in a combat sit. where sweating iis part of the course.

"a redesigned handguard, using two identical halves, with a round contour which is sturdier and provides a better grip when holding the rifle;"

10)CIVIC OF COURSE!!!

oh!, and the bonus. think I'll have a pop. I think it was either Knights / Stoner Company or Armalite

oh, and the m16 & m16a1's hand guards were made of fibreglass as opposed to the injection moulded plastic now used in the m16 a2,a3 and a4. Fibreglass? I can't think of anything weaker....except mb balser wood.

Okay, so far here are the questions that people have right, and the questions that nobody has gotten right yet:

1.  The AT4

2.  The Austrian Army

3.  Although nobody said him by himself, it is indeed General of the Army Douglas MacArthur, who has combat decorations from World War 1 (2 Distinguished Service Crosses, 7 Silver Stars, 3 Purple Hearts), World War II (The Medal of Honor, 3 Distinguished Service Medals), and the Korean War (Another Distinguished Service Medal and the Distinguished Flying Cross--funny story on that one!).  In addition to these, he has something like 80 other decorations.

4.  Arthur MacArthur and Douglas MacArthur, and Theodore Roosevelt and Theodore Roosevelt, Jr.

5.  Ford Taurus, which will only be available as a Fleet Vehicle after the 2004 model year.

6.  X-15....sorry Bucc, but the 4 forces of flight are: Thrust, Drag, Lift, and Gravity.  That is by the very definition of flight.  So as the Space Shuttle does not have Thrust, it can not be said to be flying while in the atmosphere, merely falling under controlled conditions.

7.  John F. Kennedy Center for Special Warfare, which, by the way, is where I recieved my HALO training when I was a Ranger.

8.  52,000 psi, which any person who has ever served in the Army can tell you (they drilled that shit into our brains all during basic training!).

9.  So far nobody has gotten this answer correct.  Although I will tell you that the two plastic pieces being identical does have something to do with it--hint, hint.

10.  Of course this one is just opinion, so any BL Admin you put here will be correct.

Bonus:  You guys will laugh your asses off when you find out who makes the plastic hand grips for the main battle weapon of the U.S. Military.

Your answer to number 9, the upper-lower sections are identical and interchangable. Prior to this they were 2 different pieces and not interchangable.

So, the complete list.
1.  M136 AT4 Anti-Tank Weapon.
2.  Austrian Army
3.  Douglas MacArthur
4.  Arthur MacArthur, Douglas MacArthur.Theodore Roosevelt Sr.,Theodore Roosevelt Jr
5.  Ford Taurus
6.  X-15 (I thought it could be space shuttle, but you say no. Space shuttle is just gliding, its not powered flight)
7.  JFK Center for Special Warfare
8.  52,000 psi
9.  upper/lower grip identical and interchangable
10.  BFG
