The great music debate
«

What kind of music do you listen to to relax? To get your blood pumping? While you're studying? What's your favorite genre and/or artist? What genre or artist makes your eardrums bleed? Now's your chance to weigh in on this all-important issue!
Most of my MP3 playlist is either video game music or remixes of video game music (
www.vgmix.com
, w00t), or classical. But there's a generous dash of assorted pop and techno, too. As embarrassing as it is, I've even got one disco track.

Thanks, Jeb. : ) I'll definitely take you up on that offer.
Actually, I can't stand poptechno like Moby. I've never heard a single track by him that I enjoyed or that didn't strike me as wholly unoriginal and boring. The kind of techno I enjoy is stuff like Golden Shower (
www.goldenshower.gs
). Their songs are available for free from their site, and they've got a couple of cool animated music videos, too. The music is done by a guy from Brazil who uses a Mac. : ) I recommend "New York Groove", "Sonido Electronico", and "Video Computer System". The latter track is composed entirely of samples from an Atari 2600. It's an enjoyable piece, too.
Anyhow, I tend to prefer more "musical" techno over stuff like "dance" where there's little more than a beat. The more complicated and layered the music, the more I enjoy it. It's the same reason that I enjoy classical so much. That reminds me. Hit
www.vgmix.com
and search for songs by a guy who calls himself Void. He remixes tracks from really obscure old Japanese games that nobody's ever heard of. Virtually every remix he's done is just gorgeous. Give 'em a listen. : )

I saw Paul Oakenfold live, and he was awesome. Of course, so was the artist right before him... Eminem!
And Lothario... be careful when you start spouting things like "ejo is the devil." There are certain things that are sacred among my cohorts and me, and that is one of them...

I gotta chime in here too. I ussually play 1812 overture when playing RS or maybe some Wagner. My favorite band of all time would have to be Godsmack. Some other favorites are Hendrix Kiss Red hot Chile Peppers. I also like love Nsync they are like so cool oh my god. Of coarse I jk. Heheh I hope they burn in hell. Brittiny Spears is ok, but what does her music sound like?

AFI is great, but I don't hold them as high as Nirvana was or Pennywise is now...for those who dont know, Pennywise is an awesome punk band located in my hometown (hermosa beach, CA)
I too like the above listed music that Ace posted

LoL how random and uncalled for.
I don't like how music has to be the thing that shapes who you are as a person. ?If you listen to some rap and you're white all the stupid people who are obsessed with rock make fun of you and call you a wigger and shit. ?That is bullshit. ?It's just a type of music. ?If you only listen to hard rock all the black people and white people that don't like it will make fun of you for that. ?It's also like if you listen to rap you have to wear headbands and if you listen to rock you have to wear baggy jeans and dress dark. ?That is bullshit and I don't like it. ?It's just music and I like a little of everything.

You definitely cannot go wrong with Pennywise or Nirvana. However, have you ever seen AFI live? That's what got me hooked on them in the first place. They are by far the best band I have ever seen live. Speaking of live shows, STP and The Living End are also excellent live. Pennywise was very good live, just a very small, small notch below the two I mentioned. Unfortunately I was really too young to ever see Nirvana live; I bet they kicked ass.
Infection, that was not random and uncalled for. For fuck's sake, how PC is our world where you can't rip on people for liking N 'Sync and the Spice Girls. I don't care what ethnicity, gender, or sexual orientation you are, if you like shit like pop, country, or rap, I will make many jokes at your expense. It's like the old saying: "I'm don't discriminate, I hate everyone."
PS - You are the one who stereotyped black people as only listening to rap and the majority of whites listening to rock.

I think Bondo may have been kidding about that. ?I was laughing at you anyway Ace I found it funny, I didn't think you were being that serious or you were taking Bondo seriously. ?But you have no right to make fun of people for likeing rap or country. ?Go ahead and curse at them like you've just done but don't make fun of them. Are you not saying that steryotype is mainly true though? I mean as for majorities most Black people only like rap. White like several things. I'm just saying how it happens and people make fun of you for different reasons. That's unfair that people who like rap can't be friends with someone who likes rock. Wouldn't you agree with that?

Hell, it was fine for Ace to do his joke, I mean, I use the name Flamin' Bisexual in GR often, I'm asking for it and Ace was joking, he wasn't really using it as an insult (which I'd just find unacceptable and stuff).
On the other hand Cossack crossed the line much saying NSYNC should burn in hell, that is just wrong. ?Despite what you might think, some of the members of NSYNC and some of the members of the Spice Girls actually have talent and write their own songs. ?If you want to criticize a group do so to the talentless Backstreet Boys whose music truly does suck.
And no Infection, I was in no way kidding, I truly listen to and enjoy NSYNC and the others.

Actually Infection he seriously likes those bands unfortunately. I have plenty of right to make fun of people who like those types of music. Why? Because I like rock, and rock is better. Duh.
