  Well ya dont have to add me to the club but gp ahead I really dont MIND !   I love RS its the best game ive ever played.... BUT !!!!  IT RUNS LIKE F*C***G SHIT !  im so [pissed off rigght now i feel like going right down to macsoft and squeezing sombody's neck !   Every game I have is fater on my Mac then my buddy's PC...... oooo but not RS  I have to deal with stupid crashes and lame networking !!  Hey im not a programmer but JEEZ  !!   Macsoft told me after two emails   1 on normal (no response)   and 1 on the patch that after explaining a couple few crashes i get at crazy times that  I should only be using this set of extensions....The problem you are experiencing may be an extension conflict. You may want
to reate a new extension set in the Extensions Manager under Control Panels
loading only necessary extensions. In this set turn off all unneccessary
extensions, only leaving;

1. Apple CDROM (or equivilant)
2. Sound Manager
3. Any Quicktime related extension
4. Any input sprockets
5. Any ATI extensions (if applicable)

Once you've stripped down the extensions, reboot the computer and try
playing the game again.          
   What a freaking joke !  if it cant run with at least the base set  WTF !!   are they doing the lazy bastards!!
       Not to mention I've been sitting here for about 2 h now try to use those extensions (or equvilent)  and now im finding I cant do shit  so i have to add just a couple more just to get the G4 to run right   DAMN   now  the mac is crashing with minimal extensions  .... ARRRRGGG !   anyway so what is this a detour !!!   "make him use not enough extensions so he starts calling apple"    WTF !!  hey guys if ur gonna make a game FINISH the fuckin thing !!  you can do it for the gay ass pc why cant you do it for tha mac    so i come to the conclusion that I GOT RIPPED OFF !!!!!!!   why do i have to pay the same or more when the game isnt even halfass!     .... whatever guys sorry but this shit is really getting my goat..and i never played R Six.....   cya in the games if i dont kill my comp first...anyway its a G4 500 256 ati rage pro runs ok when it dont crash.... patch worked ok  for a cpl days then i couldn't start a game anymore hmmmm     ---> MACSOFT      smelly

R6 is indeed showing its age, my friend.  It needed an update.  But even if you DON'T happen to like Rogue Spear, must you complain about it?  Just don't play it (not like you could anyway) but wake up.  It's not that bad a game.  It runs fine with me.  Never had a problem with it.  And the mods?  Oh don't even get me started.  I have to defend RS, I'm sorry...I started playing Rainbow Six a few years ago...yea...I had fun times (like assulting the airport and equiping my team with shotguns) and whathaveyou...then I was shocked when RS came out.  It ran like a bitch on my friends older comp...but as soon as we installed it on a faster one, it became one of my favorite games of all time.  (Mostly) True to life SpecOps tactics and all.  I admit...I'm sort of a SF guy myself.  One day hoping to enter one of those units...or atleast get a job with the local SWAT team.  ANYWAY...don't complain about the game.  Complain about everything else....not my sweet Rogue Spear.

I really like RogueSpear, but it sucks that we cannot MOD it very well, and also that we cannot make Skins! also, i have a problem with the bottom bar...i changed the res to 800x600 and the bottom bar is tiny! i can barely see it!!! help!

RS still runs not sa smooth as it could ran, but hell, i don't like so i don't play it ...

and Wrath i have to support you, if someone wants to modify old post, why not? May be one day someone will have the solution to get RS run as fast as R6 on a performa

Well, now that this thread has been pulled from the grave I'd like to add that I've been moved from disliking RS to hating it worse than about anything else.  It is generally darker and the good resolution makes it hard to see.  The system that they iplemented to equalize ping just makes things frustrating as you can neither use you ping as an advantage nor prefire successfully.  The maps are too large for them to be fun in multiplayer.  The reticle knock is extremely annoying, too.  Basically, I like the simplicity of R6 as it is nicely srteamlined for quick and fun play.  Now lets hope than any future games take more from R6 than from RS.

Bondo, RS ownz cuz it has more guns (GOOD GUNS) and better images, and WAY better mod's. But yeah, the res makes it lag, even on a nice G4 w/ flatpannel and cable....

I won't agree about guns because almost none of them allow my beloved 3 shot, also all the special weopons suck as they keep me from using my hbs well.  I do have to agree about mod part though, I wish R6 moding worked that well so that there would be more R6 mods for me to review.

I have 350 mHZ iMac with an original Rage 128 and 320 mb of RAM. When I first bought the game I only had 128 mb of RAM and it crashed and it was buggy and it crashed some more!  Then (as dumb as I was) I put on some virtual RAM.  Then it was twice as bad.  Now that I have the extra RAM (256mb PC100 which I got for $35 Canadian) it runs without a hitch in multiplayer.  In single player there are some bugs still but I don't play it so I don't care.  When it's all over I say PUT ME IN THE CLUB!  Aspyr seriously needs to start porting good fps games to the mac because Macsoft just SUCKS!  Out of the five mac games I have ported by those 2 companies (RS, R6, Unreal Tournament, Escape From Monkey Island and the Sims) the Aspyr ones run perfectly well.  That's a lot more than I can say for Macsoft.   Anyway when it comes down to it I'd like to e the next member.

Well, if you hate rogue spear that much, that means you'll proabably hate erm...Raven Shield...I agree that sometimes rogue spear lags a lot and that Macsoft shouldn't do any more converisons...maybe ubi soft or red storm should...?

   lmao....all these people complaining about RS....when i had my old comp...yes OLD comp it was a little choppy...but now i play RS with graphics high...and everything... because i got a new power mac. 1ghz , 1.5 gb of ram, and duel ATI radeon cards...at 64 ram each   sigh...now every one will hate me....o well
