Check your software update, quicktime just popped up on my list!  What is rather annoying is that apple seem to have squeezed more of what were the 'normal' functions into what is now only available under the 'pro' options... you can't even open a new qt window if your a normal user!! Mind you... its a petty complaint when they are giving you H.264!!  |

a QT update popped up in your Software Update in Tiger? hmm, either i installed it already without really noticing or there's something wrong here...

Doah - no sorry civic i meant for 10.3 - or rather for everyone without Tiger. The laptop is running TIger but for the moment my work machine is staying on panther until i know that the apps i need will run! |

What ticks me off is that I just upgraded to Quicktime Pro about a month ago, and now my registration code is useless under version 7.

The advanced H.264 codec makes it possible for QuickTime 7 to play back High Definition video on a personal computer without additional hardware required. However, you'll still need a G5 system to display so much media.  |

I was kinda confused when i read that Sent - Um so they are saying you can watch it fine (which i have done - looked stunning ) but you need a G5 to see it ? eh ? what ?  |

I get about 13fps playing the 720p Fantastic 4 trailer... thats a 1Ghz G4 :/

Even though you are playing it on an G4, it says on the website that the videos are made to work on a G5. A minimum of 1.8 Ghz. But it seems to work good on your computer anyway. |
