Here it is, the April Quiz!  This month, the quiz will be split into 3 sections, each containing 3 questions. The winner of each section will receive $20 Cash (U.S.), and the winner of the most sections will receive $20 Cash (there will be a tie-breaker question if needed). Also, there will be a 10th question that will be a bonus, also worth $20 Cash. That's $100 up for grabs for the April Quiz! I will post one section each Friday, with the bonus question following on the 4th Friday of the month (April 22).

This Quiz is about World War II:

1.  How many U.S. Navy Battleships were sunk during WWII, and what were their names? (hint--these are ships that were sunk and never returned to service)

2.  What are the only 2 American aircraft built during WWII that used French-made guns? (hint--both aircraft were built in America and flown by the United States Military during the war.  The 2 aircraft may or may not have been experimental, in fact, I'll tell you for sure that one of them was experimental and wasn't put into production.)

3.  What was the highest award any regular military person (not high-ranking officers) in Germany could be awarded during WWII, and how many people were awarded it?

That's the first section, good luck!

(I will not be on tonight, so the first person with the correct answers in my e-mail gets the prize...if need be, I will e-mail you the ones you got wrong late tonight or early in the morning)

I love it when I cross-check my questions with google.

God I love it when a plan comes together.

I guarantee you it is on the internet somewhere (mainly cause I put it there), and I also guarantee that you'll have to go looking for it, you can't just google it...gotta do some real research buddy.  Now you know why I only needed 3 questions per section.

Also, I just checked the answers that have been e-mailed to me so far, and out of all the people who have attempted the quiz, one person got 1 question right.  Keep trying, the answers are out there somewhere!

Why go to the library?  Every answer can be found somewhere on the internet.  I just made sure that the questions weren't easy to google.

Also, when I say "French guns", I mean they are actually guns built in France and used in American aircraft that were built during WWII (France had already fallen by the time the U.S. entered the war, so how is this possible, you might ask?).  Now if you think about what that means, then that is another really good hint.  Wink

So it can't just be american aircraft shipped to france before the capitualation?  It has to be planes used by the USAAF?

This is annoying, I've been able to find a few American Made aircraft that had French weaponry, however, I've found more than two kinds, and of those I found, its unclear whether they were fitted for shipment to france, or just for some weird reason...

Any more hints coming?
