Actually, Einstein's IQ was believed to be 200 or over.  Unfortunately, after about 170 it is nearly impossible to get an accurate measure.

The people who gave me my IQ tests in the late 80's and early 90's told me that Einstein probably had an IQ over 200, but that even if you take an IQ test and score 170, it wouldn't be very accurate because it is too hard to get an accurate measure at that level because of the way an IQ test works.

The last IQ test I took was my last year on active duty in the Air Force, when I scored a 180.  My first IQ test was given to me when I was very young, and I scored on the Genius level then.  Because I scored so high, they continued to approach me for IQ tests while I was growing up, into high school, and then into college.  I havn't taken one since 1998, as I don't believe that a high IQ necessarily means anything.  I feel the same way about people who walk around with a Ph.D. after their name.  Doesn't mean you are all that smart....just means you went to school.

As to the IQ debate...there are a few kinds of IQ, I wouldn't be surprised if GS could excel in one of them. When I took an IQ test (WISC-III) there was basically a theoretical and a practical element. I think GS would likely be strong in the practical part meaning he can do things well. But from his posts he seems weak on the theoretical part, the logical/analytic reasoning. Rather the opposite of me where I'm great with the theoretical stuff but less strong at applying it.

IQ testing takes into account your verbal skills.  There are autistic people who are very talented in specific areas; they would score well but not phenomenally.  I've seen your attempts at logical argument on this board and I've seen your writing - and I can say with confidence that you are very unlikely to have scored so highly on a valid IQ test.
