Clearing the water about Aramarth

Hello,
I would like to add some things about Aramarth supposively looking out for our clan. First off, that is far from the case. As a matter of fact Aramarth and myself constantly battle about decisions that he has made. i personally think he goes by his personal opinion more then the good of the community, but I can say one thing. He does not speak for us in any way, shape, or form. In many cases he has made good decisions, but on many of them we have argued many a nights about why he came to those conclusions. I dont think any clan has a harder admin to deal with than :MoD:. As for him thinking of us, well, again, that is quite unfounded. I dont think there has been one case where he has judged for us on the fact that he isnt even allowed to make a decision when it comes to his clan. He can only offer a voice for us just like any other clan requesting asssistance on being voiced but in the end has no decision making powers whatsoever when it comes to involvements with his own clan. So to be honest you should be happy that he is our admin, because he definitely dosent speak for us. He is my friend though and I will always respect whatever decision he makes in the end, even if I do not agree with it. And trust me, many a times I don't.

I second that, I think he's a solid admin and I've never seen him make biased decisions.

I find it really amazing that someone who makes an honest judgement on a simple replay file can suddenly gain or lose friends in the blink of an eye. If you ask me, this is the biggest problem in this league.
My local baseball team, the Philadelphia Phillies, had a really bad call the other day. Namely, a foul ball hit by an opposing player was ruled a home run. You can imagine how much this angered every fan and even some in favor of the hitter's team, but guess what? After a bunch of shouting, people got over it. The judgement stood, and merely because that sorry blind umpire said so on the spot, that run will always exist on the books. You don't see the Phillies leaving the major leagues. You don't see that umpire losing his job either. Unlike in our issue of course, this umpire was obviously and indesputably wrong. My decision was a judgement call that to this day has arguement on both sides.
What is my point? Until anyone and everyone decides that any given league (be it this or another) is bigger than themselves and their petty interests from season to season, it will never stand. Major League Baseball has been around, and will be around, because it is the recognized and accepted authority. If we as mac gamers do not accept an organization of authority,
there will be no competition, no league, and no clanbattles.
Every time I hear the words "new league" or "leaving *damn" I clench my teeth. You guys are killing yourselves, destroying your own chances at gaming enjoyment, and you seem oblivious to that fact.
I may or may not be wrong on this one judgement call. A week from now, will that matter? A month from now, will you even remember it if someone does not disagree with me on something else (and decide to use this as a blunt weapon)? I can not imagine where some people get the nerve. Yes, since your clan does not agree with me, I must be wrong, you must be getting totally cheated by a corrupt league. Open your eyes kuza and others... as BTs
should
have learned, one cannot expect the league to enforce rules if one does not himself follow the rulings of the league.
Reality check: Every clan at this moment believes that they can judge their league, and that they are not required to follow any given ruling that they do not agree with.
Resulting truth: The league cannot be expected to accomplish anything.
Read the above as cause and effect. If you think that a new league (perhaps that of BTs) will do better, consider that their clan has always been the first to decide that they are the ultimate judges of right and wrong. Hell, they were banned for doing just that. Will their league stand or accomplish anything? It will not. Not until
everyone
decides to recognize and submit to a common authority.
I can quote Political Science class here heh... The concept of government is the surrender of personal liberties to an entity in return for common defense. Read here: you follow the rules, and in return the league enforces them for you and everyone else.
Failure to do this, repeatedly, and by nearly everyone I could name, means ineffectivness.

I don't see any of this happening in this league. I follow the rules, and in turn I get nothing but a bunch of bullshit. Heh... I don't even have fun cb'ing anymore. Clench your teeth, but I'm done with this league. I hope you guys have fun next season.

DBL changes rules mid season unlike MLB ara, so using MLB as an example is mute.
I will follow any rules as long as they dont get changed to suit other players... We left because, everyone in the league was up in arms about our CB which got us into the finals... "DEADLINES THIS & DEADLINES THAT" then we wait all weekend long and when its against us... "what deadline? were extending everything..."
Sorry dude... but this league is more like a boy crying wolf... DIE ALREADY!

I can't wait for Eight to actually take his threats of leaving the ladder serious and stop spamming bitterness. No offence, Eight, but it helps no one. If you're gonna leave, just do it already. I'd be happier with you here playing but I can't have everything now, can I?
I don't have any troubles with this league neither would I have problems with it if Aramarth had called a glitch. Sure, I think a rematch of that round or FROM that round would've been a sensible line of action, but so were actually judging for AND against the glitch. There's been more times than I'd want to confess that there've been verdicts against me, so I'm not happy about this league just because I'm on the recieving end. I'm happy with this league because I feel it is unbiased and standing on steady feet.

The winning team... Why?
What's so wrong? That new maps got added mid-season? GREAT challenge and GREAT fun.
That some of the same maps later get removed? I trust it was needed.
That the BTs got banned? What has been so horrible about these seasons? Nothing, imo. Not the ladder, not the admins, but the people playing the ladder. I hold the admins in way higher regard than I regard most clan leaders.

Being a former admin myself...... and seeing how things work in the admin area.... I do have high respect for the job admins do.. But then I see how the rules get changed every time that a new issue comes up like eights example..
Quote
everyone in the league was up in arms about our CB which got us into the finals... "DEADLINES THIS & DEADLINES THAT" then we wait all weekend long and when its against us... "what deadline? were extending everything..."
I was like.. it was not ok b/c peeps said that our Cb was entered after the main season was over (wich if it had been we would have accepted this as bad misfortune) but was proved that it was entered in time, but if it was not we would not have made the RvS finals... Then when we were waiting to get the finals cb in b4 the deadline.... they grant an extension... now how does that look to us.... saying you cant extend the dead line in one instance and then exstending it a week l8r.. That why we went against the admins ruling and never played the last cb.. Thats what needs to change in this league.. you cant enforce a rule for an issue and then bend it a week l8r for another issue.
Now there is some guide lines in the admin area (when i was an admin atleast) that mauti said that each admin can make a desision by himself.. but it was an understood rule that you always talked to at least 2 other admins about anything dealing with glitches and any large issues.

Maps get added mid season.. That should not have happend... Shit like that nneed to be anounced during the season so peeps can get the map pack and play it sone and then add the map pack the next season so everyone has the same opertunaty to play the maps and get used to them Thne peeps would have found out that some maps were not very good and had lots of glitches in them and they could have beeen removed even b4 that had to use them in CB's.

I second to Eight, the problem with this league is not the friendships being lost in the blink of an eye for in many cases, bad decisions. But the rule changing and rule bending at mid-season in the past couple seasons is this leagues main problem. This may have been my last season in the *DAMN BL on account of the lack of effort by the admins to . . . well, keep the league fun (while fair and still competitive) for everyone. This last season has caused me to lose trust for some of the admins.

Well, I hope that part that Aramarth wrote wasn't about me. I said that I do respect his decision, but in the last one he made I dont agree with it. But we are still friends I think but I will not support his belief to what he thinks is right in this case. That is why I took my stand and am now here. It was probably the best thing to do for me cause now I have a shitload more time to spend with my little boy.
As for the statement that Krush outlined, well, everyone should be responsible for their actions in the league, or anywhere for that fact. It's simple that someone can make a rule, but is it simple to stand by it and back it till the end? I think that is the real question.
Believe in what you say, and stand by what you feel is right. But be prepared to stand and deliver when it comes to the truth that usually comes to bite you in the ass. I think that is all anyone can ask from someone in life, wherever that issue might arise.
