New Season Set Up

I read this and was ever so pissed:

Season One: Jan 15- Mar 15 + finals
Season 2 would begin May 1 and run through June 30, + finals
Season 3 would begin Sept 1 and conclude Nov 1 + finals

Ok, explain to me how this manages to miss every major break from school. I don't know but would it be easier to position a season to run through the break avoiding conflict while lettings those who aren't here have no reason to complain about the first week of finals sucking. Season 2 still runs up to June 30th putting first round still in the dreaded week of July 4 (and July 1st in Canada).

Seriously, what's convenient about loosing the main time we have to play in the summer, winter, and spring?

Agreed.

We have three major breaks from school. Spring break, christmas break, and summber break.

Christmas break starts around December 20th, ends around January 5th.

Spring Break starts around March 25th, runs until about April 5th.

Summer Break starts around June 1st, and ends around August 28th.

( This being for us, here in Juneau ).

You manage to miss every single break. That's when we'll have the most time to play. Probably the worst part is missing July and August. That's crazy.

Yeah, the 4 Season-Per-Year system I originally proposed did a lot better job of coinciding with holidays, school, etc.

This was what I had originally proposed on April 26, 2004:

Personally, I would like to see 4 Seasons each year, each lasting exactly 2 months, with exactly one month in between each season.  So, you would have one starting the first of January, going through February, then the month of March off.  The next season starts April 1, lasts through May, and you get June off.  The third season starts July 1, runs through August, and you get September off.  The final season starts October 1, runs through November, and you get December off.  Wow, that would be SOOOO easy to remember!

No GS, that makes it a bit hard because that will miss the December time off. How about:

I was TRYING to miss the December time off.  Because so many people travel during that time.  Look at the months you got off in my system....March (when most people get Spring Break), June (the beginning of the summer when a lot of people take their summer vacations), September (when school is really getting started), and December (when so many people are gone for Christmas....especially college students).

This actually covers everyone really well....not just high school students, or not just college students, or not just adults.  See, it has something for each of those groups.

Now that is a VERY good idea, Myst.  I have been a major supporter of a "community" vote on some issues.  Sure you can't do that sort of thing on stuff like banning a person, or dishing out punishment....but you can let the community vote on things like Season time frames, some ladder changes, and even a general vote on admins each season would be nice.

Myst.. also remeber.... College Spring breaks and high school spring breaks are at totaly diff times...... Making the first season end earlier would put it in the middle of college spring breaks.. making it later would put it in the middle of Grade school spring breaks.

Hi guys,

the dates where chosen after the experience we made in the last 6 seasons. The most inactive times where during the school vacations.
However we gonna make a poll about it soon. I  just leave tomorrrow Austria for 2 weeks towards denmark, where i visit Flies with my best friend and my new powerbook =)

I'll try to make a poll during my journey if I can get a unsecured internet connection somewhere
