Ok, I know there is another thread about this and I share the opinion of Joka on the other thread. I like the Tac Nuke in normal games, but not in a cb. We try to play this game for fun and if you get blown away at start in a cb by the other team that spotted your spawn. Well then there is not much fun left.

So I want a vote for the Tac Nuke, I love the weapon but it doesn't fit in a cb...

Honestly, the effect you describe of using the Tac Nuke on an enemy spawn is not much different from spamming with an oicw or mm1. The only difference is that once you fire, you are basically out of the game.

The Tac Nuke is one of the support kits, the last one.

And the difference between a Tac Nuke and OICW nade spamming is, with an OICW you can still miss. With a tac nuke you only have to shoot into a wall next to the enemy spawn and its blast range does the rest. On Brutha's host I killed 4 of 6 ppl in their spawn because someone on my own team ran infront of me so my shot was delayed. In a cb that is likely to happen, so I would've probably killed the whole team.

In normal games this can't be a real problem because you can use spawns, but in a cb you don't have any spawns. If you want I can show it to you this evening with a full room.

And as soon as someone fired the nuke it doesn't mean he's out of the game, he can still rush WZ after taking out most of the enemy team and camp it.
A pistol is a higly underestimated gun.

:MoD: was doing an internal cb practise last night, and to test our fears we picked DOmination on Redsquare... Brutha took the Tac Nuke.... Within 10seconds of the start after he fired that thing, the other team lost 4 guys..... game was a forgon conclusion!

Personally i just don't like it, dosn't feel like it fits in with the game... but then again most of the clans we play i think feel the same so we can just agree not to use it at the start and its not an issue...

Not until the finals when you have to play the other team, even if they want to use it.. . And with a small community and a cb limit as it is it's not like we can afford to be very picky with cb's.

I just think that if we all, well obviously not all looking at the vote, but a vaist majority think its a bad thing.. .why even present the option?

Exactly, but you don't really have a significant margin. Domination had more people against it than this and it got to stay...

I haven't seen the Tac Nuke misused in a cb to date. I might feel differently when I do, but I think that people will continue to cb like they always have. No one wants to give up their unrealisticly powerful oicw or the deceptively useful sa80. The maps and spawns from which an immediate nuke launch could occur number too few to really change gameplay. Red Square is the exception, but I haven't seen a game on that map that was worth playing anyway.

Ok gentlemen. I have had several conversations with individual members of the community, and have spent time getting a feel for the community at large also. I have come to what I think may be a proper solution.

In order to greatly reduce the use of this weapon as a spawn-time cheap win, I have sent an update of the file to Mauti. The updated Tac Nuke includes a reduced maximum range and a very significant increase in stabilization time. These two changes will (I expect) alter the use of the weapon more toward my original intent, which is to provide a fast and easy way to break a hard camp. The blast radius has not been reduced, as that is the entire point of the weapon.

Before I hear this from one of you: yes, it can still be fired from your spawn. Yes, you are an idiot for standing there as long as it will take to become launchable. Yes, you may still get someone... but no more than an oicw barrage in all probability.

After seeing and using this, it can be quite fun to use to add distance to explosions, but I think it's a good idea to remove it while people still suck with it.
