Hello All,
Just two things.  First, I just ran this one myself and it showed 1010Kbps, which is just about right from the other, more accurate measurements I've taken.

Second, for those that don't know what that means, it's really 126KBps.  You have to divide by 8 remember...

Even T1 lines only run at about 190KBs at peak (1.5Mbps).  This is about 6.5 seconds per meg of transfer at best (gotta remember to count all those confirms with each packet).  If packet size isn't optimal, you are talking about 10 -13 seconds per Meg.  

This little network lesson is brought to the idiots that always talk out of their ass over who's connection is the fastest, and how they can't be the cause of lag.  Next lesson will intale how the routers between two major networks (like AT&T and Sprint for instance) can be so jammed up, that having 1.5Mbps on both computers could be just as slow, or slower, then a 14.4 modem connecting that's on the same major spine.

For the rest of you, who already know all this, since it's not news for many, I'm sorry.  I've been hearing too many dipshits on GR lately.

Bondo, I've been lagging in all kinds of games lately, and I used to be able to host 16 player games.  When @Home's network was broken up, it screwed up a bunch of connections.  Also, don't forget that the hosting computer also has to be up to snuff to handle all that information / calculations.

Oh, and as for showing off, or doing it for a living, it's nothing that Matt or many other high school students (or even younger, since we learned it back in 7th grade) don't know.  It all depends on the classes you take, not about anything else.  If I were trying to impress anyone here, I'd post thesis's, not networking 101's.  The network 101's only come out when guys talk out of their asses about such stuff...
