Where is the knowledge we lost with information?

« on: May 07, 2003, 10:25:14 pm »

Well Evill released his new update which stops cheats for certain games BUT NOT GHOST RECON. This is the convo I had with Evill:

?FiRE Hazard: Hey Evill does the new update stop the GhR Nightvision cheat that is out?

Evill: Hazard, no, but I will soon with a new plug-in.

So soon the problem will be solved. So thanks Scott.

That is an excellent thing.  I am glad Scott has the ability to do something about cheating in CB's.

Is this a ghost recon update?
Meaning, will everyone have to have this file to play on game ranger?
This would be nice so people STOP accusing me of cheating.

sounds good!

Would appear that (especially on siege games) your not allowed to get a score of 20 or higher without some guy accusing u of using a 'aim bot' (wtf is an aimbot btw?) or some sort of cheat...
noticed that listed in the 'whats new' was the following
? Added hooks to allow plug-ins to do game-specific cheat detection

Sooner it comes to ghost recon the better!
excellent!   Grin

Aint that the truth BFG.  I hate it when people bitch when ya kill them over and over.  to be honest the only reason u get that many kills is mainly cause there are newbs on the other team that just basically stand still and let ya kill them.  it's sad but true when it comes to big games like that.
I believe that when it comes to this issue here of GHR cheats being a problem of the past I just cant see that happening.  I mean I wish that was the case but it seems that the way the game was made it was made to allow easy access for cheaters to do their business.  I dont believe that many clans cheat although there are a couple I am sure.  Either way, it would be nice if scott could do something about that, but it dosent seem like scott is doing much of anything at the moment.  Maybe he is just on vacation or something because it has been quite a few weeks and I have not seen or heard of one inkling of scott working on a solution for this.  even an update on the progress of this anti-cheat program for Gameranger would be nice.  So as far as I know it seems that Scott working on this anti-cheat business is all heresay unless someone can prove my statement wrong. =(
Dont get me wrong, i would love to see Scott do something about this, but until some type of proof has come out about the fact that he is even working on it I will consider this heresay.

It's been about a month since Scott Supposively said he was gonna do something about the cheating, but again to no avail.  I am now under the impression that Scott ahs no intention of making an anti-cheat mod, which is fine cause it just makes me secure on the belief that he wasnt gonna do anything from the beginning.  Ah well.
