One Is Never Enough!

OK, I've played RS, I'm playing Ghr. On and off i've been in the RS community. When i wasn't involved i monitored the ladder see what was going on. What did i find?

Well every season, mid season, pre season end of season 2 things always happen.

1) Clans are accused of "Tactical Ladder play". Playing new clans etc to gain points and get to the top missing the good clans.

2) Arguements and Suggestions about the point system.

My suggestion is this, at the end of the season take the top 6-8 clans and place them in a "A" ladder, the rest of the clans are placed in a "B" ladder. Now all the tops clans have to face eachother and all the "noob" mid ranged clans face eachother. At the end of the season maybe top 2 or just the winner moves up. And of course the looser of the A ladder goes down.

Now at the moment the only ladder that has enough activity for this is Ghr. How many clans now almost 40?

Is this not incouraging more competitive play?

The point system always needs tweaking, there are so many different ideas for a "new" one that there is just no point in me bringing mine up again.

But Mauti, you say yourself that you want the DAMN battle ladder to be competitive, what better way? thought or comments on the subject would be appreaciated.

Actually if you were really monitoring either of the ladders you'd know that there is a new finals system in which the top 6 clans of each ladder make the finals and have to play each other and win 2 out of 3 cbs before they can move onto the next round.

You get more points for beating higher ranked clans. Making it more desirable to play better clans.

hazard is right... but if it were to be thought about i can see big advantages.
.. Im supposing it work a bit like the football leagues in the uk - the premiership (top teams) then 1st, 2nd and 3rd devsions...
Top 2 teams in 1st,2nd, 3rd devisions go up... bottom 2 teams in premier, 1st,2nd,3rd devisons get relagated.
3 points for win, 1 for draw, 0 for loss.... if teams are tied its decided on 'goal difference' or in our case 'game win percentage'

One problem that as a clan we have come accross... are lower clans that have done a huge number of cb's agains low ranking clans.. risen straight up the ranks above ourselves... but then refused to cb as they believe the odds are against them winning!... even though they are ranked higher Wink

Or you could always force clans to cb each other - so that your not allowed to turn it down - but only prospone it untill enough members are able to play... but that dosn't sound so good!   Huh
I dunno.. just my 5pence Grin

The victory is not to be a target, but to win

I think the only thing I dont like is how the CB's are rated for points.  I guess I can udnerstand the simple fact that the higher the ranking of the clan the better score that you get.  My question first off is how does that apply?  Let's say that you were fifth and they were 4th on the ladder.  you cb them but it seems that they have already lost to 2 other clans before you got to them.  Now with those 2 losses it bring them down to 7th place but the BL still shows sthem being as 4th palce.  Do ya get the points for them being 4th place or 7th place because the losses were not recorded on the BL yet?  They were posted but they were not put on the BL ranking list yet.  So how would that work?
Another thing is about the points you would get for a win.  I dont think that it makes much sense that if you play a closer game like a 4-2 victory that you would get 11 points whereas if you pwned them you would get 10.  I think scores of the games should make more of a difference when it comes to points then is being done this season.  Ah well, that is just my opinion Grin
