most of that info is temporary, just so there's some filler "content." Any complaints about the overall design or anything? Anyone, please. Here's you're chance to bash the hell out of a site and have it be good for society =D

I like the overall look. . .but I HATE FRAMES.

I think it's really just a personal thing, but they are kind of clunky, don't render well between different browsers, and make different elements of the site seem disjointed.

It does have a nice effect of having the text scroll across the background, but in general I would recommend either continuing the background down lower or only putting one page worth of text on screen at a time.  It's a tough choice, but it will make the site easier to use. . .

Also, the white on black is tough on my eyes.  The roster page looked fine, because the white text was on the dark part of the image.  If you continued that dark part lower you wouldn't need frames. . .

But anyway, the text visibility needs some work.  Otherwise, great job.  I love rollover highlighting  Grin

Wow, all clan sites are being redone, I think Jeb changed the cunt site...
Well i changed the title graphic and the image maps...
however i am working on a completly redone site from the ground up that will make you question your sexuality, and turn the sound off on your computer  Grin

about frames, they suck ass for most things, the only time i use frames are to hide a embeded mp3 so it plays thruout the links on the site.

Jesus Christ (forgive me, lord), why does everyone hate frames so much? Jeb, loudnotes, myst, half the people i've shown the page too. Look at the benefits from well-used frames: greatly reduced loadtimes, static portions of the page to ease navigation, and... um... not much else.

As for the background being too light, try turning your monitor's brightness down, makes all the difference in the world. If too many people gripe, i may just make the background even darker.. sigh...

Anyways, you guys notice any major bugs or anything? i don't have all the freaky browsers out there, so i can say is it looks fine for me in IE 5.1. The background is s'posed to stay static while you scroll, and there should be no borders on anythign anywhere. if it looks leet, then you know it's working fine =D

well, frankly i dont hate frames at all. i like the way that you dont have to reload everything as you surf the site, but then again, i do have broadband

anyway, my personal opinon is that if frames are well done, they are very usefull tools. if they are abused tough, then they are the DEVIL!

Well, that professional web designer must blow, because either he lied to you or doesn't know jack shit about usibility guidelines.  Look at the resolution of that page.  Look at how the advertisement is the focal point.  Look at how big that file size will be.  It's a creative photoshop image, but lousey for a web site.  And I'm not a noob, I do this for a living.

Your leet code is bullshit too.  I looked at your site www.pchardwaremods.com, and that was not done using a text editor.  If it was, you were cutting and pasting from something that did use a wysiwyg editor.  The code is crappy, not clean at all.  Looks like something phpNuke or PostNuke puts out, that someone tried to mod the templates on.

One last thing.  If you are creating just html, Dreamweaver or Allure's Homesite are two of the better editors to put just the code in.  Those are standards for most real web work.  But must real web work is being done in JSP now (and the OSX development tools rock for this type of work, WebObjects is the shit).
Thank you for your opinion on the design. About the current sites hand-codedness (heh, once again, my word Smiley), it is all coded by me, with out aid in any application such as Dreamweaver, with exception to the JS in it, because I can't do JS. The site is in PHP right now because that is what I use, but once I am done with my Java2-1 course, I am considering looking in to JSP. Do you have a link that could give me a quick overview of JSP?
you could mark code up all you want with explanations for what is happening in the code, or you can just do it your own way. I could give a shit about if i tab table cells when i make a site. As long as you know what is going on... thats all that matters
Very true Smiley I personally like proper tabs, but what ever floats your boat
i like romulus website (http://th3sp0t.com/layout.html) i think its even better than kos website
Finally, someone who likes my layout (And who is a good graphics designer!)
Dreamweaver causes too many problems with any HTML I have tried to edit using it, and it's handling of PHP just plain blows.

So that's why so many professional webmasters use Dreamweaver then huh?

Are you guys sure that's Romulus? Last time I checked he couldn't spell to save his life....

RSC
romulus spell checker
I don't think that many programers that code dynimac code like to use Dreamweaver or a another application like DW, because they really screw up the code. I have tried a few of those app's, and have always fell back to EditPlus.

And yes, I can spell and type decently, when I choose. I have improved my typing skills drastically since leaving the Mac community, mainly because I have to type faster in CS then I did in RS Smiley
Maybe you got him confused with SK. . .they all kind of run together after a while.

But I'm pretty sure it's the same chap...maybe he's been taking english lessons.
A) I'm not SK or any other one of your people. I am either Romulus or SiGmA_X (Mac and PC names, respectively). I haven?t use another name, and don't plan on it any time soon. And no, I haven?t taken English lessons.
but I have experienced some problems with it, like for some reason it adds random /'s to the html or my jpg's and I have to take them out for them to load in IE.
This is even worse of a problem when dealing with PHP and Dreamweaver :p

i use dreamweaver simply because it simplifies the time i waste coding html, also the file browsing feature and sites organization is great for keeping links work when you change filenames. I really don't see a problem with using the help of dreamweaver even though i know how to code by hand. Using the graphical interface in dreamweaver is pretty lame.
A friend of my mom's is in charge of a webdesign shop in seattle, they mainly use dreamweaver for coding purposes.

Some people really like it, and are faster with it then hard-coding the pages... I prefer hard-coding, because everything I do involves PHP so it only takes 3 lines of code for the entire layout's inclusion Smiley For the layout I also hardcode it, but that's just of of habit.

With this next layout (www.th3sp0t.com/layout.html) I might use Dreamweaver a bit to set it up, but I haven?t decided yet...
