well i was posting about the mac we have at home so i said, why don't we start a thread about it.  sure.

So colin and i have one of the brand new G4 towers (with the 4 vents on the front).  it's the second to highest model with two, 1ghz processors.  it has about a GB or so of ram and a superdrive of course.  and we threw in a GeForce4 Ti4600 and then it has the normal (slow ass) 80 GB hard drive.  so i was wondering if anyone had the dual 1.25 ghz model, cause it is a bit faster.  But anyone with 2 processors knows that OS X is insanely fast and everything opens in like a second (or 4secs for photoshop 7 Cool)

I would be interested if anyone had one of those 10,000 or 15,000 RPM hard drives and if they are worth it or not.

PS - I'm home in less than 24 hours!!!!!!  So startin this friday night i'm gonna be tearin up the GhR community on GR for about a week, just lettin ya know. Wink

Well, my brother just ordered a new Dual 1.25, should get here in a few days. Currently, you've got us beat, we've got a 933, an 867, an 800 powerbook g4, and an iBook.

are you talking about network, or computer,
My every day computer is a 466mhz g4, 768megs ram, soon to have 210gigs hd storage, a geforce 3, and i run it with dual monitors sometimes. Then I have 7600 running yellow dog linux. I got the 7600 for free from a buddy, i also have the prospect of getting a 9600 for free also.
Then there is a 700mhz imac, and p3 dell that is around 800mhz or some bs.

As soon as the geforceFx makes its way to mac, i'll be buying my next g4 tower.

Cunt thats a nice picture.....who is it.....actually i think ive put up 4 or 5 different pictures of different people but whatever you want to believe. Regardless I have normal Imac and then the newer Imac with the flat screen and those tight glass speakers. Our school has like 3 Snow Imacs like the ones on the stand I dont know what they are called and they dont have room for them its so whack. We dont have the money to erase Grafiti but we dont use new macs.....hmmmm.

Flame, I don't know anyone rich enough to have a ton of macs bought with their own money. I think its safe to assume that those with 3-5 probably bought 1 or 2 on their own. Then of course its the rich folks that can usually afford 5 (new) macs running off a network with a $50-70 a month internet service. That is if they are satisfied with average speeds.

You haven't seen Bander's G3 233Mhz with a 2MB Graphic Card(lol) On this veteran he was used to play R6. I also could reactivate my Mac Classic || with 9" b&w screen.

However my 1999 iMac DV SE with 400Mhz 384MB RAM 8MB ATI Rage and 40GB HD isn't much better to play GR.

I'll buy my next mac probably next year (1.8Ghz 64bit dual with 1 or 2 GB Ram, 0.3TB HD(Maybe as RAID Level 0 for video editing) and a GFORCE FX with 128+MB VRAM) *mautiseemstodream* Wink

Bye,

Mauti

Gorf, I have the same computer as you, except I'm on a network with multiple T1s, and I'll be getting an upgrade of 512MB in the next month.  So I'd guess I have the fastest computer... theoretically.  As you can see from my previous thread that I'm having confusing troubles though with GR and only GR.

Regardless, that computer is nothing compared to my Bondi blue refurbished 233Mhz iMac A.  You know, the hardcore one that's got 32MB of RAM, was upgraded to OS8.5.1, and is on the 56k?  yeah that iMac can kick you're ass anyday.

And by the way, I am a poor college student.  My computer was bought with my mommy and daddy's money.  If I had the money I would buy that same piece of metal and plastic for $3000.  But I don't have the money, so while I still have the chance I'm milking my parents for all their worth.  (As if they didn't think tuition at $38,000 a year was enough... suckers!)
