Bondo don't kid around..Duke had the best team in the nation as usual and it was by pure misfortune and luck they lost. ?They won the ACC tournament also.  If my gay brother PsYks didn't want to go on so badly I would go on about how great Duke was and always is.  I can give every reason possible so don't pick a fight with this trust me Smiley

Hate to break it to you, but duke is losing their three best players to the NBA draft - Williams, Dunleavy, and Boozer. Next year they are going to blow about as much as Carolina did this year.

Besides, Oklahoma and Kansas were both better than Duke this year.  Maybe Missouri as well.  Roll on Big XII.

What about Daniel Ewing?  Better question, Who is Daniel Ewing?  And if you say he is a relative of Patrick I'm going to laugh and I won't stop for quite a while.  Patrick Ewing may be the most overrated player in NBA history.  He doesn't have talent, he never was a player that could carry his team on his back.  He is in no way a superstar athelete, just a big guy who occasionally scored or rebounded.

LoL Bondo nah he's there new sensational freshman point guard. ?He took them over when they were having trouble against Notre Dame and he's going to be amazing this year with all of the new talent they are getting. ?Also Dunleavy may not leave yet.

Break up Duke. Yeah, you heard me -- Duke. What, the Blue Devils aren't an unregulated monopoly? Who has ever stopped them? Every year the NCAA holds a basketball tournament, every year Duke is just about the last one standing.
-I don't like it. I don't like it one bit.
Oh, Kansas, Maryland and Cincinnati are more fearsome at the moment? Hah! The Blue Devils are the best team in the nation. They always are.
-(Can you believe Duke entered the ACC Tournament as an underdog? Sheesh! The starting five is Jason Williams, Chris Duhon, Carlos Boozer, Mike Dunleavy and Dahntay Jones. That's a better ensemble than 'Friends.' Smarter, too.)
-Duke has made nine Final Four appearances in the last 16 years. Since 1986, 49 of 53 players who have completed four years of eligibility at Duke have played in at least one NCAA championship game.
-Heck, after last season's national title, Duke lost the national player of the year, Shane Battier -- and got better!
-This is an unchecked monolith, my good people. And the problem is getting more pronounced.
-Remember that improbable period in which Duke made it to five consecutive Final Fours from 1988-92? Duke's record in that span was 151-33. Well, over the past five seasons, Duke's record is 162-18.
-So it's time to break up the Dukies.
-I've got plenty of evidence -- some of it documented, some of it undocumented -- to prove that the venerable Durham, N.C., institution has too many unfair advantages. Take a look:
-The academic standards at Duke are too high.
-Much is made of Division I schools that allow academically marginal athletes into their basketball and football programs -- people perceive this as unfair relative to universities that don't allow those type of questionable admissions.
-As usual, folks have this backwards.
-Because of Duke's unbending academic standards, only the smartest kids go there -- that's -- the unfair advantage. If all your scholarship student-athletes are clear-thinking and level-headed, you're way ahead of your opponent at tipoff.
-Like the N.Y. Yankees, Duke has too much money.
-In the endless squawking about baseball's big market-small market divide, we are told how the Yankees with their $100 million-plus payroll have an insurmountable edge over, say, the Minnesota Twins with their $25 million payroll.
-Well, how about Duke vs. Winthrop?
-Or even Duke vs. Maryland.
-As a University of Maryland I know that many of them struggle professionally in low-paying positions -- heck, I know people that have been unemployed nearly half of their adult life -- and cannot afford to contribute mightily to the Terrapins' athletic program.
-Meanwhile, Duke graduates are the captains of industry. They are investment bankers, heart surgeons, movie producers, tobacco executives, robber barons. They sign blank checks to back their Blue Devil loyalties, and those blank checks turn into 6-foot-8 power forwards who can fill the lane on a fast break.
-The rich get richer, and the rest of us hope for a No. 3 seed in the Midwest Region.
-Duke plays most of its postseason close to home.
-For starters, the ACC Tournament seems like it's always held somewhere in North Carolina. Like Lefty Driesell was ever going to get a break from the officials in Charlotte or Greensboro.
-For finishers, they also always seem to play an NCAA sub-regional somewhere in North Carolina. It's bad enough that schools like Duke and North Carolina are usually better than the rest; it's worse they essentially get home-court advantage in the playoffs. Heck, St. Cloud State could win a national title if the Road to the Final Four were through its own driveway!

-Duke is nothing more than a dressed-up NBA factory.
-Student-athletes, my butt. Then why does the campus library at Duke have the biggest Pop-a-Shot concession in America?
-Every time I look up, Duke is sending Tommy Amaker or Danny Ferry or Christian Laettner or Bobby Hurley or Grant Hill or Elton Brand or Shane Battier or Jason Williams to the NBA.
-In Coach Mike Krzyzewski's 22 years at Duke, he has produced 29 players for the NBA Draft, including 14 first-round selections and nine lottery picks.
-Coach K cheats.
-We all know about Mike Krzyzewski's stellar Duke tenure -- a 562-164 record, second all-time in NCAA Tournament victories (56), three national championships in the last 10 years. And, sure, Duke is clean with the NCAA -- no violations, no probations, no suspicions.
-Like Coach K doesn't break the rules now and again?
-You think he's never jaywalked?
-You think he's never spit in public?
-You think he's never gone 33 mph in a 25-mph zone?
-I've been compiling evidence of all these crimes and misdemeanors for years. Enforcement officials just have to call me and I'll turn over everything I've got.
-Besides, I don't trust anyone who sits down for interviews with Charlie Rose.
-Duke gets all the calls.
-Duke players don't get into foul trouble, they get into fellowship programs.
-You know it, I know it, they know it -- no matter where the game is played, all the calls go Duke's way.
-It's like the old Boston Celtics dynasty of the 1960s. What, Mendy Rudolph was going to whistle a three-second violation on Bill Russell in Game 7 at Boston Garden?
-I've had it with the Duke student body.
-The so-called "Cameron Crazies"are spoiled, arrogant topsiders, just a phone call away from Daddy's money.
-They're always chanting fancy stuff out, sometimes in Latin. (Remember, at Maryland, most major in vending machines, and don't appreciate feeling anything stupider than they already are.) Well, I can chant stuff out, too:
-Phooey!
-My friends, the tyranny of Duke must end.
-The Blue Devils just won an unprecedented fourth straight ACC Tournament championship. They made their first nine field goal attempts in beating Wake Forest in the semifinal and then defeated NC State by 30 points in the title game. Boozer has made 76 of his last 91 shots.
-Sure, you say, Boozer and Williams are leaving after this season, but I don't trust this Daniel Ewing -- he already looks sensational.
-Plus Coach K isn't going anywhere.
-He should've been fired when he had back-to-back 10-17 and 11-17 seasons in the early 1980s, but he was spared. Then a bad back sidelined him for most of the 1994-95 season, but doctors came to his rescue. Of late, he has had an ailing hip, but, again, doctors are going to replace it.
-So, as you can see, Duke has the financial, officiating and medical communities behind it. It's a foregone conclusion the Blue Devils make another Final Four; it's also a foregone conclusion I'm going to make a phone call or two to ensure this is the final time it happens.

haha a little
[sarcasm]   to talk about who they really are and always will be.

Well, if you were THAT great of a Duke fan, you would know that the name is now Jay Williams, not Jason.

Nah... Dickey V is a UofD fan, not Duke... I remember when Dickey V coached the University of Detroit, and even his brief stint as the head coach for the Pistons...  Dickey is the man.

BTW, Infection... only Bander and I are allowed to be that long winded.

Infection, you?re 14. You know nothing about college basketball. No, I?m not judging that based on your age, but rather, your posts. I?m also going to guess that since you live in New York and are way too young to go to college (and your posts indicate you?re too dumb to get into Duke) that you are another fair weather fan.

Duke has a great basketball program, there?s no doubt about that. Duke is a good school. No doubt about that. Krzyzewski is one of the greatest college coaches of all time.

Even so, you sound like just another gear in the Duke hype machine.

First of all, Maryland won the ACC regular season. Not Duke. Maryland and Duke played each other twice this year, and they split the wins. However, Duke lost to FSU and Virginia. Two very mediocre teams by ACC standards.

Secondly, have no grand illusions about Duke?s ?rigorous? academic standards for athletes. Nearly every player on the team is majoring in Psychology a 90 hour credit course. For public schools, that includes Maryland, courses are 120 hours. That?s a big difference. Is Maryland superior to Duke in academics? No. Is Duke just as shady as every other major basketball school when it comes to so-called ?student-atheletes?? You had better believe it. (If you want real student-athletes go to the Patriot League.

So please, shut up. Maryland won fair and square. They deserved the title. I was there to watch them win it, I was there at the ACC tourney, and I was there for the last game at Cole; trust me on this, you can find no more deserving team than Maryland.

P.S. How?s ole? nut-sack-boy Reggie Love doing?
