paintballing isn't that expensive is it?
Snowboarding is pretty expensive to get started with, unless you can get hooked up with a used board, and buy slicks for outerwear, but then you end up look'n like a fisherman with the raingear on.
California snow sucks ass, i've never acually straped on a board and gone snowboarding down there, but i spent a day fucking around in squal valley by tahoe and the snow was shit.
washington is the best state for snow, Mt. Baker washington holds the world record for snowfall in a single year from the 1999 season with 93ft of snow! they would shut the ski area down quite often to dig out snow from under the chairlifts which are usualy 60ft off the ground.

well, unfortunatly you probably dont live near the UP, or else i would suggest going to mount bohemia with me, skiing or snowboarding.

at the entrance to bohemia they have a big sigh, can't miss it WARNING, THERE IS A GOOD CHANCE THAT YOU MIGHT DIE ON THIS SKI HILL!(or something to that effect) one green run, one blue run and the rest are all black, double black, or triple black diamond runs.  i'm a pretty good skiier, and usually a double black diamonds dont phaze me that much(normaly i cruse black diamons) but frankly, bohemia scares the shit out of me.

if you dont want to risk life and limb, may i suggest barefoot water skiing?
you're about 75-100 ft back on a rope behind a boat going 35 mph(on the low end) with nothing more than a wet suit. if that doesnt give you a rush , consider what happens when your toes go under and acts like a brake(your foor drops what feels like 10 mph almost instantly)

you dont need to be a physics major to figure out that you're face is then headed into the water WAY too fast( i would estimate that you're hitting the water at about 50 mph)

anyway, the spelling you were looking for earlier was acetelene(or at least that's closer to the real spelling)
personaly i would recomend that you get hydrogen and oxygen for your explosive efforts.  easer to obtain the ideal ratio of gas through simple hydrolisys <sp?> thus leading to a bigger boom.(true acetelene has more stored energy in the chemical bonds, but it's a bit more finiky on the combustion ratio than a hydrogen-oxygen explosion, at least that's my experience)

there is a product(i forget the name) that is  almost pure chemicaly bound oxygen. i think welders use them. if you cant find it, it may not exist, i found about this in a short conversation a few years ago, so alot of details are fuzzy.

and about the tinfoil-drano thing, yea, that's good but it's nothing compared to throwing a 5 lb brick of pure elemental sodium into a pond( for bigger bangs try pure potasium, but that WILL be dangerious, not to mention hard to obtain)

Pfft. Rob, you're a San Diegan just like me. You should know that the most extreme activity with the biggest rush is crossing back into America from Mexico and telling the border guard that you're bringing back some cocaine and marijuana. You probably won't even get beaten up too badly. ; )

HAHA loth Grin... i'll keep it in mind. where in SD are you?

in cailifornia the best place for snow is in mammoth.  i know that is a great place but it is a good 6-8 hours away and the closest place is 2 hours away...  so snowborading isn't the best thing for me i think.

paintballing can be expensive.  you always have to pay for paint.  a case of paint runs from 60-100 bucks and holds 2000 balls.  you can use 1000 ball for a day easy.  the trick is to get sponsered and you can shoot all you want cuz it would be free!  i haven't gone paintballing for along time.  but i'm sure there are guys that shoot up cases in a day Angry. as for just charging the other team for a "rush" it will just get you alot of welts and have to wait for the next game.

acetelene is the easyest for me to get.  if you have a welder you got it! it is simple to get the ratio by geting the brightest flame.  i do know acetelene is just abit more powerful then hydrogen. what you you mean by your experiance? have you tried both? i have only tried acetelene becuase how easy it is to get.  i have tried to get hydrogen out of water by electralicis(don't know how to spell) but i couldn't get it contained in a plastic bag or balloon. i just gave up. also we have a carbite cannon with a 5 inch diamiter pipe.  you put cardbite crystals with water and create acetelene and off you go(we blew out the back of it once but i fixed it). anyways, if i get back in to explosives i will use C4 or C6 or something new.
what is hydrolisys? sounds like electralicis(miss spelled)...

lol loth,
a friend of my dad's was crossing the canada america border back int he 70s... When they asked if he had purchased anything he said "yeah, we got a couple bazokas, some explosives, and a illegal imigrant in the trunk. they didn't like that joke, and they striped his car and held him overnight.
I've crossed the mexico amerca border over 40 times (from texas) and i'd say that any time i try to make it back into the country is a scary  one. Now they randomly search cars down there and tey would most likely find the cuban cigars, tequila, and other contraban.

hyrolosis/electrilosis is the same basic thing except the first applies specifically to water (if i remember high school chem class correctly)

anyway to collect the hydrogen and oxygen is to  take a milk jug, fill it completly with water and then turn it upside down in a pan of water trying to prevent any  air from getting  into the jug then insert the 2 wires into  the jug (normaly you collect the gasses in 2 different containers, but since you're just going to be blowing this up again, what's the point?)  then to the 2  ends of the wires to a battery (think car battery) and now you wait till you have as much gas as you need/want

here's a little ascII diagram for you

        _____
       |--------|<-------water level, above is the collected gas
       |          |            will be combined because of how the  cathode an anode are placed
\          / <------milk jug or other sutable container, filled with water
        \        /
|------| |  | |-----|<------water level in tub
|          |  |        |
|______|_|______|
           |  |
           |  | <------cathode & anode connect your battery here

and i still think you should try barefooting

Well Rob, one good idea is to ski blind follded down backside here at EagleCrest Ski area in Juneau. Man, I lasted for about 20 seconds before hitting about a 25 foot cliff, that was probaly the stupidest thing that I even let my friends talk me into ( You were there wern't you Casper? With me, Matt and Gabe? ).  You gotta go out of bounds for the real shit. Try Snowblading, or considering how hard it is to stop, try having your friend snowblade while you ski, Casper fucking took me out on Wolverine last year ( Dumbass ), do some skiing shit, thats the real way to get the good thrills.

Rob, I'm in Sabre Springs, which is next to Carmel Mountain Ranch, which is roughly in the middle of and equidistant from Rancho Bernardo, Poway, and Mira Mesa. I lived in Poway my entire life, then during last summer, I moved about six miles away to my current place. Where are you in this fine town of ours?

extreme laziness

put a backboard with a coushin on a minifridge, and place that in front of your computer. cut a hole in the top, and put a bucket under it. fill the fridge with beer and soda, fill a big ass jar with pretzles and put that next to your new chair. then look at porn all day.. if you have to take a crap the chair has a hole in it, and food and drinks are never out of reach.

Yes, one of the stupidest things I've ever done. - But hell, when they give you money to do that, which I used to buy food with, it was worth it.

Not so much anymore, but two days ago I was out in the 15 ft surf (waves are measured on the backside, not the face that you see)...I must say I got my ass handed to me and broke a fin off of my board  Angry so I ended up going back out with a bodyboard and a pair swim fins. You talk about extreme, that is extreme (more so if you dont know what you are doing like my friend)

Geek that's the way to go.

Although mtn biking is my personal favorite.  Blowing things up and/or trying to kill yourself aren't quite as much fun.

But I wouldn't worry about safety in biking.  Most of the really dangerous things (i.e. careening down ridiculous hills) are hard to do unless you're pretty good at it anyway.  For example, a great hill/cliff might be in the middle of a 6-mile loop trail.  You'd have to be skilled enough to get to it, and then hopefully those skills would be enough to keep you from killing yourself  Cheesy
