Technically there wasn't any bullshit. The ball hit the defender's hand but he didn't do it intentionally rather he just failed to react and move. By the rules it isn't counted as a foul then. The fact that it was the only thing that prevented it from being a goal is unfortunate but doesn't change the rules. Tough luck for the US as they played better than Germany through most of the game but thems the breaks.
And for at least two people, (me and blackmagic) football is important as we have been on GR chatting about it during the games throughout the month. BM is a little less committed as me because he sleeps. But I truly am committed and truly should be committed
.
About the other game, England stunk outside of the goal and deserved to lose, especially for letting in such a garbage goal of the free kick.

Bondo, I agree with you on how that play was judged.
However !, I am almost positive the ball was over the line for a goal when the defender touched it. I don't think the judge had a good angle at the time to see if it passed or not... therefore he was forced to give Germany the ball with no goal for US.
It sucks, but thats the breaks. I think everyone will agree with me in saying, the US sure proved alot of strength this year.....

I think we can because I don't think this year was a fluke. Then again, France and Argentina didn't advance so just because a team is good doesn't mean they get to the round of 8. Anyway, I think another four years of MLS will mean the US is finally able to compete and beat any team on a given day.

Soccer is pure evil, lemme tell you. Soccer fans must be the most vile beings on Earth. I don't think one day has gone by without some soccer riot in Europe someplace. Those people get out of hand I think. When was the last riot you had over a MLB game? NFL? NBA? Not too often....atleast none where people are seriously injured...
...Now...lacrosse. Theres a sport, lemme tell you. Ulti...back me up on this, will ya?

Hew PW, if you really want to see a great lacrosse game... check it out on the reservations (native american that is). Talk about guys throwing their bodies into it (and without pads at all). That is fun to watch.
But, Rugby, now that's the game!

well bondo Yes that is the rule but it is also cant be intentinal then if the player has his hand out and it hit it (happend) and You could just do that through the whole Feild..... But you can't so it was a Bullshit call because his hand was away from His body and that was intentinal even if he did not mean it, it still was a bad ruleing and i am down south in utah(U-14 regionals) and the Same thing happend and they got a pk. What i would Have ruled Was a Pk with out a red card because if you stop a ball With a field players hand then you are suppose To Have a pk and given a red card...

The marines are so good they took a jeep into some Iraq village trying to get ambushed, they refueled 6 times and did everything they could to get ambushed. and didn't!
Then the same people take in a army jeep and try not to get ambushed and they do. but the marines kill them all and go home.

The thing is that the defender got shot off by the ball , and the rules say that when a player touch the ball with no intention - and it was no intention b/c has hand did not move to the ball, the ball only hit his hand - it is no foul.
Im sorry for the US guys and players, they played better and the german defence sucked, and they made all wrong when they could do, but the ball is round and the games is going 90 min. So evry thing can happen. The germans were only more efficient and they still have the best keaper in the world - and it is no secret that without Kahn the germans would not have made it so far.
And now for all the US boys - I hope that the germans will defeat South Korea in a good match so the whole world can see that we can play football and that the US boys can say ok we lost against an even team - although the germans had a really dark day on last Friday.
Sorry but thats the game.
Im also sorry about that we have to play VS Korea i wanted then ti play in the finals - but when they win they kick germany out , and that is not my will.
I wanted a final betwenn England and Germany.

Ultimo - you're a native english speaker and you can't even understand someone who's not? He said want
ed
That's past tense. As in it won't happen.
Oh and as long as I'm being bitchy - the US may have played a better game against Germany, but they never should have been in the game in the first place. It was only because of Portugal's bad play in the first round that the US advanced at all. After that loss to Poland...
Anyway, it's all past now....
And Ebola's right anyway...money plays too much influence on the game

From how they looked in group play maybe they didn't deserve to be there, but they got there fair and square, and from how they played in the elimination games, they did deserve to be there. They looked better than every other team I watched play in the elimination rounds except Brazil.
