I must say I don't often get pissed about too many things but this has gotten me angry. I have never used so many caps in Gameranger when I was not yelling at someone else there. "OH MY FUCKING GOD BUD SELIG CAN GO TO HELL CALLING THE ALL STAR GAME IN A TIE WTF IS THAT!?!!??!" was my immediate reaction when i got online after the all star game was called due to the shortage of pitchers. Bud Selig is such a bitch. I understand that he did not want to jeopardize the health of the pitchers, but there are different solutions to the problem, the most illogical one being  to end the game. First I'd like to say that there was a rule made for the game which allowed a catcher to be brought back into the game if the second catcher was injured. This is just a slight variation of the circumstances presented to Selig. I think that one solution, a logical solution, and also the solution used in exhibition games, is to put your pitcher in a position which he could likely handle, such as first base, and then have a position player pitch. Seriously, this is an ALL STAR GAME, I'm certain that there are plenty of people with arms strong enough and accurate enough to pitch a few outs. For example, national league, Andruw Jones? Center field, great arm, and great accuracy. National league, Nomar Garciaparra, 'nuff said. The last time that an All Star game ended in a tie was 1961. NINETEEN SIXTY ONE!!!!!! FOURTY ONE YEARS AGO. Oh...but at least there was a good reason for that game ending, it's that stuff that falls from the sky called rain. Damnit...these guys get paid millions of dollars each year to play, and I don't think ten more minutes of throwing could hurt. To wrap things up, Comissioner Selig's decision was a shitty one, and I feel that the players have no reason to strike. It's the fans that should strike. Leave your comments here, I'd like to hope that I'm not the only one who feels this way about the game. I know the Milwalkee fans made themselves heard, screaming "Let them play!" to Selig in the front row next to the National League dugout. Of all the things Selig has done, this is, in my opinion, the worst.  Angry

And shepherds we shall be, for thee my lord for thee.
Power hath descended forth from thy hand, that our feet may swiftly carry out thy command.
So we shall flow a river forth to thee, and teeming with souls shall it ever be.
In nomine Patris, et filii, et spiritus sancti.

I agree that it was shitty to call the game but you really couldn't have put in another player to pitch.  It can be good but extremely dangerous.  Do you know how good paul on'eils arm is?  It is great but it was sooo much better before he pitched in a blowout game and hurt himself.  From what I hear it was a fun game that I fucking forgot to watch...I did go see mib 2 tho Wink Angry

Well, having position players come in and pitch isn't a new thing, many teams have done it before (my Rockies had a bench player get a win doing so in relief).  But yes, I think Selig is officially trying to end baseball.  This and then the impending strike that could last through all of next season even.  Baseball is doomed.

I think milwaukee's fans were extremely well behaved for what was going on last night...I can certainly think of some places where worse things could have happened.

Fuckin Selig. If the owners lock out the players (a very good possibility if the players don't strike), you will not see me back at a baseball game or watching it on TV soon. As for the game, have Padilla and Garcia I think it was go longer, have a position player, do ANYTHING but completely destroy the very fabric of the game itself: a competition 'till the bitter end.

As for the Brewers fans, I lost no respect unless they show up to the park tomorrow (if the Brewers are home, I'm not sure about their schedule). Also, I am kinda dismayed they didn't throw shit at Selig or better yet go kill him in a riot to make European soccer fans watch in awe.
