A blast from the past...

As a personal request, is there any way to rename the general gossip in Grifter's memory? Say maybe Grifter's General Gossip or something else more suitable?

Wow I think that is a really good idea.  He was a great guy who was always in this general gossip area.  He was a moderator and a very important person to this gossip.  That would be really nice if we could do that.  It would also be nice to be able to tell new people on gr and to the forum why it was named after him and what a great guys he was Smiley

Good idea Assassin. There was another thing I was thinking about. Mauti, is there any way to make it so that the purple Grifter used is no longer available for people to use? For the time being, please no one use it, and if you do I'll just change it anyways. That was his color, and it should stay that way.

Mauti,

I agree whole-heartly with both Ace and Assasin. If there is any way I could help, just say the word.

Purple, like a #, should be retired, and m/b color the actual name of the forum purple. Like assassin said, "Grifters Gossip" in purple or like that.

Sorry, I want to memorialize Grifter as much as all of you, but I don't think putting Grifter's General Gossip is the way to do it.  I definatly agree about the purple though.

Alright I changed the following: removed purple from the color list changed ?the General Gossip description to purple. I think the purple description indicates that it was Grifs place very well. Any reactions or complaints? Post them below.

Bye,

I think that it is very nice and I have no complaints.  I just want to know why you don't think making it Grifter's General Gossip in purple is appropriate?  No complaint, I just want to know why.

Well if I make the link color of General Gossip purple all links would appear purple so it wouldn't be special anymore and about renaming the GG: I have my doubts about it - I have  a small in memory of grifter site linked from the main page, the description is purple you have  a grifter desktop I think it is enough -  life goes on, must go on. I will remember him even without renaming the forum. Its enough we have to go on. Maybe this sounds unsensitive but it isn't. When I lost my grandpa, who was for me that what my dad should be, I was very sad but after one week of deep sadness I went on. I didn't have to put tons of pictures on my walls to remember him - he is in my heart and mind. And so is Grifter. I think there is enough stuff online that also all guys that didn't know  Grifter , will ask themselves who was he and if they go to the small page and further to the forum entries they will say: "Grift had to be a great guy  to bad he had to leave us" and that was my personal aim of the whole thing and not to praise Grifter like a god and put his name on all sites and links.

I hope you don't misunderstand me, I liked Grift very much but I think everything needs borders or you won't be able to go ahead.

Bye,

Mauti

mauti, you have it right.

he wasn't about memorials, or tributes.  he wouldn't want the fuss made over him anyway.  and he wouldn't think of you as insensative.

the best thing people can do for him is to take a little piece of what they admired the most in him, and try to be more like that.  that is what he would have done.  that would truly honor his memory.  if anyone wants to remember him in their own way, that is wonderful.  but he would never want a monument of sadness.

i was thnking that mb deadeye could log on as grifter one last time and change the name to Grifter-R.I.P or something like that, that way all mauti would need to to is leave him on  as a gg moderator and we would have a simple reminder of the  man who ment so much to so many of us

btw i an having trouble opening grifters memoirs(or what ever you called them) is anyone else, or is this just my problem?
