Lead...Follow, or Get The Hell Out Of The WAY!! ?

« on: June 07, 2002, 03:17:41 pm »

I was fumbling around with my computer today and realized I needed to do something with it since I only had 250mb of disc space left. As I began looking for files to get rid of I noticed that my mod folder for UO was holding 1.8gb of mods, so I decided to copy them to CD and delete them from my hard drive. As my CD burner was franticaly copying files I remembered back to October of 1999...
A friend of mine introduced me to Rainbow Six. After playing a few times I was hooked. After finishing all the missions on the hardest levels I began looking for a new challenge, and I found it when I discovered that you could play this game with friends on IP. It was not long after that I discovered MPLAYER. I began playing games online and I was in awe of some of the players I saw (mostly the guys from CF...Cyber Force). It was not long after that a friend I met online and I started a clan (Sniper Assault Force or SAF) this lasted unitl about March of 2000 when some internal strife led to the clan breaking up. I then went and bought Rogue Spear, and eventually Urban Ops. After playing online for some time and getting tired of the same old maps and weapons I beagn to mess around with modding. I made two or three map packs, but what I relaly wanted to do was make a weapons mod. After making two weapons mods, I by chance found Coco's web site and saw that he wanted to make an HK uniform mod. I contacted Coco and offered up my weapons mod (which really sucked by todays standards) and we began modding together. I am very proud of the mods we turned out for UO...HK ITD, Official SWAT Mod, US TAC MOD, and the Pistol Mod.
Last month we started on a new chapter, when we began modding for GR. I look forward to the DTD IDF Mod which will hopefully be out soon, but I look forward to the future (Raven Shield).
Anyway...I just wanted to thank everyone here that have encouraged me, challenged me, and at times cursed me Grin
I especially want to thank Coco for listening to my crazy ideas and making them come to reality...Coco you are a true artist. Anyway just some ramblings from me and I hope I can help continue the tradition that has been set forth here. Cool

Aww getting me all misty here... Wink It's been great, so much fun being able to just bring project after project from concept to completion, faster than pretty much everyone else. This is due to the great teamwork we have and the energy that is created between the team members. We learn together, innovate together and in the end, we all have the same feeling of satisfaction. Cobra, you're a true pro in this game, cheers.
