RS Gaming Patch

I have heard multiple rumors that work on the  RS gaming patch for the Mac has been suspended indefinately...but i am now sure if i should believe the people telling me this...will someone more enlightened on the subject correct me or comment on this issue?

If this patch is cancelled, look for me on GR doing more of this:   in the bugged game a.k.a. Rogue Spear.

 I hear alot of people complain about how bad Rogue Spear is. I think the game will be alot better if you have A GOOD COMP. Stop trying to run rogue spear with low ram and a 30 mhz computer and you will be fine. I have a 450 mhz dual processor g4 with 256 ram and my rogue spear barely crashes. Instead of complaining so much try getting a better comp

Well isnt that nice Ultimo. Rogue Spear is a buggy game and a patch is needed. Your comment really didnt help or answer my question. Now, even if you have a good comp, that doesnt cancel the fact that Rogue Spear is buggy and crashes more often then when we had the beta patch. Another problem i have encountered with RS (not just me but many others, one with a 733 G4 tower) is that the fps rate dips bug time when there is lag produced by the game loading graphics. The patch also helped the length of time, thus reducing the lag. Now, i would appreciate someone who knows something about the patch.

I just went to www.utterer.com and he said that the patch was suspended by MacSoft so they complete a game called vampire...I think that is really gay but what can we do? Supposedly they will finish the patch once Vampire is complete...now, the question is how much longer will we have to wait?

you could always set your clocks back and use the beta patch. i usually dont have many problems with RS either. the patch did reduce the amount i crashed while hosting however.

I hated the beta patch..... It disabled my center view button!!!!...... very annoying, and i didnt relize anything new except no more random maps..... i dont want to go back, stop complaining and keep playing

yeah i dont miss the patch and i dont think i ever will if it doest come out at all. i'd like to see some of these rogue spear expansion packs be ported to the mac though, especially black thorn. its got a new multiplayer mode "lone wolf" where one guy takes on the rest of the players, the winner becomes the lone wolf. sounds pretty cool i think.

oh well, whatever floats your boat. I do agree with Matt about getting these expansion packs ported over to our mac platform, but there is one problem...the jackoffs who were supposed to make the RS gaming patch are the same ones who would port Black Thorn to the Mac...and there is another problem...from what I have been told by my friend 01, Kevill said he wouldn't put it on Gameranger...hopefully that is wrong...

Well MacSoft doesn't have to port these expansion packs. You can buy the PC version and convert it yourself and use these expansion packs as mods for UO. Covert Ops Essentials works 100% here and once Black Thorne is out I will also convert it in few minutes to the Mac. The only problem is that Covert Ops Essentials would need the RS 2.52 patch. That is the reason why you can't find any tutorials at this page. I had to redo several files to get all missions to work but once the patch is out I will post a tutorial so you all can convert it yourself or if I have time I'll maybe make a utility that converts your PC version with one click.

That would be awesome Mauti, now all we need is the 2.52 patch and i'll be set. The only problem is that you couldn't play the "lone wolf" multiplayer game in black thorn. but having the new weapons and maps would still be cool. If it was that easy to port these expansion packs i can't see why macsoft cannot do it.

I think that is mainly because RS was recently released and second  because the license from UbiSoft /REdStorm isn't cheap.

Mauti and I am not sure about the Lone Wolf mp part. I think it is also possible to port this game mode but well we will see when it is released!

Yeah, it's out, which is awsome, but what sucks is that it wont patch MY RougeSpear copy! Shit on a Shingle...Maybe Sheep's copy will work better (he sent me his RS App...) I fuckin' hope!

Try replacing your Rommel.CXP? it worked for me?

Well, that probley would have worked, but I just got the basic RS App from Black Sheep and it works fine!

Now I can kick my PC friends asses again heheheheh. btw does anyone know of any IP trading forums for RS, that might be a good place for mac and pcers to "mingle" in RS

oh yeah, now that RS is updated, if i got a copy of covert ops it could be converted and used as a RS map mod?
