Roll Eyes

After several great months of RS play online, I now must wait  2-3 mins when I start a hosted game.  I've reinstalled the game twice and still have the same problem.  Any ideas?

do you experience this when connecting (where you see some screenshot from the Canals map in RS)? I for one have manymany mods installed and I have to wait for minutes until the game starts up (single and multiplayer). If this annoys you, just delete some mods from the RS Data/Mods folder or move them to another folder like "unused mods"....

The stall happens ,when in gameranger, right when I press the start button to start hosting, or in RS multiplayer when i click on create a game.  Mods have been installed before , but were deleted before the two reinstalls.

Thanks for your reply

hmmm... did you try to reinstall RS or run a disk-diagnostics prog like First Aid or Norton Disk Doctor?

Good points, I have reistalled and checked with disk first aid, but I think Norton Utl's would be something that would get to the bottom of it.  It seems to be getting worse, texture maps are not showing up at times, and crashes more often.  I could need anit virus as well.
Thanks for the info.

I'm sorry I couldn't help you much - maybe you should run SpeedDisk on your HD; maybe this helps speed up the starting process....

Hey,

It seems most of my problem was my cable internet service was going through changes, and was finally fixed yesterday.  It works great now.  On the other problems like losing textures and crashes, I reinstalled Rs and updated to 1.0.1 and it worked fine.  Thanks for the help.
