I run Rogue Spear/Urban Ops on my Mac and experience some problems when trying to host or join MP games:

-Joining MP games that my PC friends host is impossible. I get a message somewhat like "This server is using modifications to the game" and cannot join their servers.

-Hosting works fine, all my PC friends can join without probs at all. But on certain maps everything dies when the action phase is about to load. All my PC friends crash, leaving me alone in the game. About 50% of the maps work ok, thiough.

The PC guys run 2.52 and a no-CD patch.
I have upgraded to the latest mac version as well. I can play alone without probs, my PC friends experience some probs on running classic missions. They can't start them at all. Noone is using any mods or other add-ons.

Has anyone experienced this too? Any ideas on what to do? Could it be the no-cd patch or something?

Thanx / PJ

PJ,

Infogame tech support says that the Mac player MUST host in crossplatform games. ?Doesn't work if the PC guy hosts. ?Period. ?Crossplatform multiplay with Rogue Spear does not work, either. ?Only Urban Operations.

The techs also suggested that I use Urban Operations v. 2.50 rather than 2.52 for better reliability (obviously, the PC guy needs to use exactly the same version). ?But on this, I've heard different views. ?I've heard from others who use 2.52 crossplatform no problem.

Your PC friends are using a mod that you do not have.

Franx, I've played on lots of PC Urban Ops 2.52 servers with no problems.
