i will agree that bander is older and more mature, but i would be willing to debate wiser being the egotistical arrogant ass i am.... bander, first of all we arent in any way like russia used to be, they had a one party system and anyone against it was silenced by fear or violence... here, we have (basically) a two party system with the right to say pretty much anything we want (as long as it isnt slander, libel, etc)... just because we only have two parties doesnt mean we arent a democracy, all citizens have the right to vote and a say in the government, which constitutes a democracy... finally, we call it congress, parliment (spelling?) is in the UK

True - in russia there wasnt any "open speech or thinking" and yeah - basically in my eyes U.S.A. are a great role model for democraty (in fact Franche invented democraty at all - so ... euro isnt all bad at democratic issues hehe).

There are only a few things that worry me about U.S.A (and its a fact that this wouldnt worry me at all if USA would NOT be the only superpower left. may i list em?)

Here:
1. for my taste U.S.A should be more aware of its "Word Role Model State nr. 1". A country wich always competes other goverments with his own shouldnt reject any clima control agreements just cuz they have a (homemade) energy crisis. (What will YOUR kidos say when they will breath poisoned air and eat toxic food?)
2. I think it should be easier z.b. for the "greens" in USA to get into parlament (even as a very small fraction). in euro small opposition partys often find out corruption or other illegal shit and makes this public. only 2 partys at all can hide alotta from the masses (even when they change leadership like some ping-pong players)
3. usually i am against death penalty! (ithink to rot livelong in jail is a much better treatment than being easy killed. And DUDES(!) we live in year 2001!!!!

BUT: YEAH - i heard they grilled that psycho who bombed the world trade center. In fact (lol) this was VERY OK for me! Die Nazi Scum!!!!
4. very stupid things i heard in news about U.S.A:

Euro goverment isnt strong enough yet to act at a high efficiency. So without USA euro would have politically sucked in all Jugoslavia issues (we prooved to be totally confused - this was blameable! lol)
So in fact U.S.A. has very very good points and also some very bad ones. (BUT show me THE perfect state - i dont think there is one - yet).

The only thing that really worries me is this dumb

As an American, I read in our news all these articles about how upset Europeans are at America---and I have to agree!


Maybe you've heard about the last election over here, where George W. Bush won on a technicality.  That man makes me want to puke.  He has no sense whatsoever, and most of his policies make it sound like he wants the country back into the Cold War.  He has already made lots of mistakes!

Unfortunately over here the 2 main political parties do control way too much.  This is especially bad because the Republicans (the party Bush is from) control most of our Congress.  So like little lemmings they vote for whatever policies the president suggests.

That's very[/b] bad for our country.  Don't even try to get me started on Bush---his energy, foreign, and economic policies are already horrifying.

I could go on and on----he makes me literally quite sick to the stomach----and I know that will make some of you get pissed at me but that's too bad for you---

It is widely believed that Al Gore should have won the election  (By the way...American electoral crap is outdated too--sure it worked in 1781 when the Constitution was written, but this is 2001)


However---don't just listen to my view---talk to Wrath---he is a Libertarian---one of the small 3rd parties (except their views aren't all that different from those of the Republicans)

Just to correct a few wrongs in your post--

Bush partied at Yale and had a barely passing average.  He was booed by students there when he gave the commencement address this year.  

He is no genius--his SAT score was around 1200 (explain to me how he got into Harvard---Can you say George Bush Senior?)

I never said that Democrats did not vote like lemmings--that is one of the problems with our political system--both parties vote like lemmings.

A missile defense system is more likely to inflame other nations and possibly provoke attack than it is likely to be effective against an attack.  It would not serve as a deterrent, and currently it would cost 60 BILLION DOLLARS and would probably not work properly anyway.

Think of the many other things in our country that could be helped by 60 BILLION DOLLARS!

Continuing....Clinton won the '96 election with more like 60% of the popular vote  (a clear plurality) whereas Bush just "won" the election with 49% of the vote.

And Ace/loud, I have absolutly no problem with the electorate, with the lemmings in congress and so on.  Only Congress can change the electoral system, only Congress can embrace their freedom to vote their concsence.

I just can't deal with the fact that half our country are so adament about their 2nd ammendment rights when they ignore that their own leaders are convienently forgeting the 1st and 4th ammendments.

fourth, the missile defense is something that, while it may not be viable at the moment, will be a viable option 10-20 years from now... by laying the groundwork now, we will be able to have a system using coming technology that would be reliable... as for that 60 billion dollars, we have many other things in our budget that are far more trivial that u should attack first, personally i think the safety of americans is easily worth 60 billion

finally, check ur statistics before u tried to talk back u little shit... clinton got 50% of the popular vote the second time, only 1% diff from bush's 49... also, just to piss u off, i checked and found out that clinton only had 43% his first time
