The one thing I would want to see Apple improve is offering 640x480 or a low widescreen one. Well, that and a 100GB HD.

I don't know about the whole touch-screen fuss. If Apple truly perfects it, that's good, if not it will be another iPod Nano Scratch styled mess. As for Civic's image, maybe in 2007; for the time being an increase of 10 hour playback is a bit far off... not the fact I don't discredit bluetooth+802 as that is plausibly awesome, yet still semi-unlikely considering infrastructure for on-iPod music stores or the power needed to receive a streamed video at "acceptable quality".

if it's going to look like that, i'm most likely to buy one thats for sure.
even though it might not happened, I think that Apple would make some kind of lense that would make it less scratchable.
And I don't really see the point of Bluetooth2 and Airport, if they aren't going to stream movies with a new airport express thingi.
But some of those things listed seems unrealistic, but still it makes me drool.

my god civic if that first pic you posted turned out accurate... omg hehe. only thing is i think apple would move it all horizontal - ie not keep the same image top, scroll wheel bottom, but shift it to left and right so that the ipod was used in its horizontal form all the time rather than switch between vertical for music and horizontal for vid.
The diagram just above defiantly looks like a tablet and not an ipod i agree with myst. Basically looks like itunes on a tablet.

Maybe the perspective of the image is weird  So the device itself might be smaller, or the hand bigger. Depends how you see it. Point being, it might looks like a tablet because the hand is to small to make it a mp3 player. or what ever. |

true the hand makes the scale seem for it to be a tablet... but also for me the dimensions are just wrong, the ratio isn't right - just looks wrong... then again thats a patent diagram isn't it... and its the interface and the fact its touch sreen that it is demonstrating... so who knows  |

well that tablet looks pretty shweet a touch thick though and things like the curved edges of the lcd screen make me scream fake (unfortunatly heh) ipod video looks very sexy shweet but again, the curved edges of the lcd and the very thin bevel make me unfortunatly not believe it.
if only though... my god can i imagine those things selling like hotcakes on a frosty mornin!

The reason the patent looks like a tablet is cause it has window control boxes. I doubt the iPod is becoming a PDA at this point... well maybe.
