I think that this ammout Moderators is just fine as long as they don't abuse their powers.

I would tend to agree with Dest on this one. 6 mods does seem like overkill.

On a somewhat related note, in YaBB are you able to do stuff like Polls and Stickies (threads that stay at the top no matter what)? I've seen these on a forum that uses phpBB and they make it a lot easier for mods to keep spam down and helps get messages across if necessary. If this is possible without too much work Mauti, it would make things better.

i think he'd have to upgrade to the latest version of yabb ace.  it is also a php board, and has many enhancements.

A blast from the past...

I thought the three extra mods were to help keep spam in control temporarily...now that the spam is fine, maybe it is time to scale back to the original 4, mauti? (Ace, Infection, Grift[God bless his soul], and I)

Ass read my thoughts - I thought only the appearance of so many mods will reduce spamming and so it did. I just wait until sunday then I'll go back to the 4(5 may Brain will stay) moderators.

About topics staying at top Ace - hmm their is a SP 1.1 release of this board but it is still perl only the website is php. However I ll read through the changes but I think there isnt such a feature.

Bye,

Mauti

So I went to a folk festiaval this weekend which, like most folk festivals, was in the middle of the woods, lacking any and all computers.

I come back and suddenly see at the bottom of my screen admin functions.  Then I see that I have been made an admin.  Quite a shock, I assure you.

Of course, now it is 12:35AM EST on Monday, and Mauti said I would lose admin privledges sunday.

I am confused (though thoroughly delighted at the prospect of DELETING YOUR POSTS!! brouhaha)

So Mauti, if you would kindly clear up this confusion, I wouldn't mind.

---

As for the topic at hand!  We do have too many moderators. (7)  I say this knowing full well that i would be one of the mods to get the ax, but I'd say even 5 is too many.  I think those moderators chosen in the "new admin" thread was perfectly good.

I don't think the spamming problem has been curbed completely, but spam is on the decline.  As soon as mauti finds it proper, I'll support his decsion on cutting back on the mods, and look back nostalgicly on the days where i had a taste of moderating glory.

Until sunday is over and I wake up on monday Roy. However sorry Brain but I'll go back to the original 4 mods. I know it wasn't the fine art to make you a mod and then to remove you again - it was a demonstration of what happens if we get to many spam and so I needed respectful mods for the moment. However thanks for helping me out and realizing my "Evill" plans  Wink

Bye,

Mauti

Oh well, it was fun while it lasted.
Thanks mauti for at least giving me a small chance to mod.

Now back to my normal forum life; trying to find something on topic to say
