When I told a friend I was now playing GhR online he said he was against it because players online can cheat a lot. He said that some people have maps with the colours removed, can see through walls, have modified weapons etc.

I wondered if there is any truth in these claims, or is it just that as a noob he couldn't believe how easily he was getting killed without ever seeing his enemy?

Is there a lot of cheating on Game Ranger?

Also, are there improvements you can make that are not considered cheating? (Like adding voice, which I imagine is a great advantage.) Reducing the size of the map so it doesn't cover the cross-hairs would be a good one. Has this been done?

Hey sub

You could check out this thread

As for cheating in Ghr, in the pc world Ghost recon has been seriously hacked.
Wall hacks (like you said transparent walls) and uniform hacks
(opposing teams have brightly colourd uni's instead of cammo)
If these hacks ever made it to mac I have no clue.

Ofcourse being new to the game you could quickly think other peeps are cheating,
but because  more experianced players have been playing for a couple of years
now they know most of the maps by heart, their skills of the game have improved.
My believe is that most Ghr and RvS players don't cheat , but there could be guys out there who wouldn't hesitate to use the hacks they get their hands on.

Yes, stop playing in a 800x600 resolution. Increase to at least 1152x1024.

Nope, tried that - still covers two thirds of the screen (but in much finer detail!). I'm playing on a 23" flattie.

When you guys select map can you see your cross-hairs?
