Greetings to you all.....
This is Nomad of the *DAMN clan.   Now...I've noticed that many many people use the Heartbeat sensor. Personally, I don't use them because I find their use to be just as bad as camping. YES!!!!!! i just compared your beloved HBS to camping.  ask yourself this question...how many times have you been killed by some jack ass sitting behind a corner with their little hbs watching your every move. Come on......if i got paid for every single time i've killed someone standing behind a corner with an HBS, struggling to get out their prim weapon....I'd wouldn't be rich but I would get a hell of alot. even the "better" players on GameRanger use HBS. I'll list off a few clans for you.....Rain, Seal, POD and even *DAMN. Some of the best clan of R6 still rely on HBS.....seriously guys....thats pretty damn pathetic.
This is what I am going to do. I challenge each and every single one of you to NOT  use your heartbeat sensors. Do you think you can handle that? I can.....I have NEVER once relied on the use of a HBS and I never will. Remember....the only way to get good is to make sacrificies....do you think you all can handle this?

yeah yeah yeah... you play the way you play we(or I) play the why we(i) play... but how many times have you've been shot in the back or died by someone in the next room?    I'm sure you've had your fair share of deaths as much as we've died tinkering with our HBS... and stop picking on me!! I'm still learning the art of the hbs.

nomad - i dont see how u can even compare hbs and camping: hbs is a standard r6/rs piece of equipment that everyone can use, while camping is generally using a superior map placement to make up for a lack of skill... unlike with camping, u can level the playing field simply by carrying ur own hbs... if u choose not to carry an hbs, u shouldnt bitch about it, it was ur choice

as a 56k, i know that its basically impossible to survive without hbs... i recently played a few games without hbs, and i was slaughtered because broadband players could easily outping me... with my hbs, i have the chance to prefire and make up a little for my high ping

Hans...for my  opinion on this, refer to my previous posting called "A Heart Beat Sensor?  You don't say..."  Look back a ways for it.  I think its on the second page of the forum.  Then you can get the ideas from most other people.  Well...those ideas before it turned into something else that was very nasty.  Name calling and whatnot.  One in which I may have offended LoudNotes.  Again...Sorry about that comment, Loud.

I don't care man. ?There is nothing more invigorating than pretending to be offended by meaningless messages left by people I have never met and never plan too.......it gives me a perverse sense of power........ok j/k. ?

There are plenty of things more invigorating, but I won't elaborate here..........

And finally, Nomad, the world's easiest mod to make is one that removes hbs from all multiplayer games you host! ?Just go into your data2 folder, open up "Kit" and find the files called "MultiplayerEquipMp.txt" and "MultiplayerEquip.txt" ?The first one is for regular R6 and the second is for EW. ?Open them in Simple Text and scroll down to the "Items" category. ?Now simply remove the file "hbsensor.eq" from the list. ?Tada! ?When you host R6 or EW no one will be able to use Hbs. ?

By the way....if I ever release my mod that I'm working on (which is going to suck by the way) ?I plan to include a little install package that will make it very easy to remove Hbs.


I hope this solves your Hbs problems, at least as long as you are host. ?

I totally understand ur hate on a hbs cuz in reality no one coul use it that fast. but i will explain u in the members only section how i configured my keyboard to be able to switch from main gun to hbs and reverse hell-fast.

i agree in many points of your post but u also know the stupid situation with a camper "inside" who cowers somewhere and u run around everywhere searching him just to be shot in the back by this clown just when u already got bored running around. agreed?

dude maybe we 2 should do some hbs practice in a locked game i am sure this would bring u one step closer to a r6 god dude.

its not that tough to set up ur keyboard to switch easily from gun to hbs and vice versa... mine is space bar = gun, command = hbs... try that, it will work very easily

I use the defualt keys 1 and 4. ?(I use 3 for the fbs I use on my own team) ?It is suprisingly fast, cause i just hold my "sidestep left" finger, a, up on 1, since you dont need to sidestep until in combat, I can switch hella fast.

I hate the hbs, it takes away from the realism of the game, if i wanted 2 play something unrealisic like UT, i would have bought it. And i agree that it is like camping. Ya, everyone can ue the hbs, but everyone can also camp. So.... Right? Besides, it is boring to stand in 1 spot the whole time. Ban it! Or maybe i can write a mod to get rid of it?

Oh please.. If you don't like the HBS, don't use it! If you don't like it because YOU can't use it very well.. LEARN HOW TO USE THE DARN THING! I personally think it is quite fun to have a "hbs standoff" against a SEAL or a fellow POD in the City basement or KH. That's where it boils down to pure skill..

Also, if nobody used HBSes, games would drag on a LOT longer.. imagine it.. 2 players running around a map trying to find each other while everyone else gets bored and leaves then finally the host aborts the game. Is that your idea of fun?! If it is.. thats pretty lame..

I sometimes play without the HBS just for fun to test my "skillz" against someone with a HBS.. I usually.. though..

HBS != camping. I have seen too many people use it to sit behind a corner and wait for someone to come by and then come out blazing. I try to avoid that.. but there are ways to combat people doing that. Rush them.. prefire the area where they will step into. It's worked time and time again. If somebody does that to me - my first reaction is not: "I hate their guts because they are using the HBS to camp" its: "I'm gonna beat them next time they try that trick on me"

Don't outlaw the HBS because you don't understand it. If you don't *want* to learn how to use it.. learn how to fight people who do.. not by making posts in a forum...

OK, I think I'm just tired after a tough match that boiled down to POD vs SEALs.. GGs guys.. maybe next time, SEALs

first of all, i think that when i see != in wraths post and automatically think "does not equal" its a sign i have been doing too much coding (same for wrath for putting it there in the first place)

clark, u say everyone can camp just like everyone can use hbs... this is not true because maps give one side a definitive advantage for camping, ie bein blue on airport

and wrath, i cant wait till next time since sling is back on (sling and thresh back on = u should just kiss my ass now hehe)... anyways, those were some of the most fun games i have played in a while (what a coincidence, there werent many newbies) nj to u, ax, dough

I always get my ass kicked by Sling whenever he is on.. no matter how much I've improved.. this time I did better though.. He killed me 0 times.. it was mostly Ace and Macs

Actually, Ace, I'm glad you noticed that != thing.. I have done *some* coding.. but I had done the / through the = symbol and it worked in the box where you write..

BTW: I played a TacOps game with John and Thresh the other day... guess the results..

Actually, the results were something like:

John: 11/3
Wrath: 3/18
Thresh: Incomplete stats, joined and left the server a few times.. though the times he was there he was llike 4/1

I am not bery good at TO you can see... I did get to kill John once though.. although he and Thresh had beat me up the last round..

I don't get this whole anti-hbs thing here. ?Wrath is right. ?If you are good enough, no one camping with the hbs can beat you. ?People do it to me all the time, and I whore them. The hbs makes the games faster and harder.

(I'm not saying I'm good enough of course, yesterday even as a host the SEALs were ripping me a new asshole. Only Macs, Brew, Cam, and Ghost; none of the others.)
