Being banned

As most of you guys know, im banned from Gr.  Here is my experinces so far.

   It kinda sucks and I wish I was playing right now.  but its good knowing im kind of  doing it for a just cause.  The only thing that bites really badly is i was about to start my third clan with ~dvd~.  I really thought that this once would work.  I kind of want to keep it going, but its a lost goal now.  Still, im in no position to ask evill to let me back on.

Ya know what though?  A little strike or protest would be cool, about how Evill is disrimanating.  (i can give you many examples, like, when some people advertise stuff and nothing happens, but when gamescouter is your banned).  Or when people say hotline ands are banned, even though that doesn't mean you are warezing.  Anybody else think that a voice needs to be heard??

I'm with you Ness maybe we could protest against gr we are already banned so there is nothing to lose. Anyone else who is banned is welcome to help us. Some of you who are not banned should join us and take a risk. It is not right to ban someone just because they mention GameSCOUTER or hotline. ?LoudNotes, gamescouter is coming out with version 1.4 in the next veiw days I am friends with Xec96 the maker of gs. Also I'm probaly going to beta test it myself I just have to ask Xec if i can. I will let you guys know if its any good or not it probaly will be.

The mentioning of the word such as "hotline", although no direct comparision to warez, yet recieving a ban. ?Programs like "Hotline" provide people with many unilegal things, and just a small ?% is illegal. ?We are not debating the fact of whether "warez" or other copies of programs should not be punished. ?In fact, we agree, that the Mac community does not need to promote illegal software. ?But, we do not see the difference between Napster and Hotline, when mentioned in the chat, and not directed towards illegal activites. ?"Hotline" can be used for mp3s, just like napster can. ?Yet, many people use the word napster in chats, have the word napster in their name, or have a napster buddy icon. ?We find the matter to be unjust. ?
? ? ? ?URL's, or advertisments, is also a #1 priorty for our organization. ?Sometimes people will give out certian URLs and be banned. ?While others seem to spam a different URL, or even include it in their name! ?We wish to see a "All or none" policy. ?We can use an annolgy to compare it to the freedom of speech law. ?It is not right to say peron X can say this, while person Y can say this. ?It is an all or none rule. ?That means, either you have freedom of speech, or you don't. ?We think that the same should apply to advertisment. ?Some people have conpared Gameranger to a communist goverment, or dictatorship. ?We do not feel this way, and we honestly believe Scott Kevill wants to make the most out of Gameranger.

if someone PAYS for a service he can demand
but if he enjoys for free he can send ideas for improvements but not in this harsh tone.

but what u "suggested" isnt all bad.
i figured out the best thing nor being banned at all is:

keep your nose outta public chat where evills gang lurks (admins) - if u start a debate with em u will find u in a chatbattle soon (they always bash at me and my bad english for example). and im sure if u would argue around like in a true debate they just would abne me too.

so i just DONT talk to em. and i dont get banned. just open a r6 or a rs chatroom and talk there. no one will create u troubles there.

but again: forget public chat in gameranger - its poisoned by "big brother is watching u" athmosphaire.

evill himself i must say was always very nice and cool to me. i also understand that he blocked personal messages lol.

Bander is right.  Even for his bad english (which is a hell of a lot better than my German) he can still get his point across.  He has a lot more experience with GR than I do.  So listen to him--ignore me!

I was once banned for 30 min, it felt like eternity! indefinately must feel like castration! , oh well, good luck man!

For all of you who think Evill is running gr out of the goodness of his heart to let you play online games,he's not.Evill has a contract with game manufactures and gets a cut ...for example of every copy of RS thats has his web site on it. How many copies of RS do you think have been sold because of the multiplayer.....alot. He must relize that this is a buisness and he must satisfy his customers and not punsish them for meanial things. His monoply will be gone with gamescouter and I think you will see a change in attitude real fast when players start to migrate to gs.GR is a great site and i like it alot but have seen to many cases of bs bans not to say anything

Use this thread to post a "friendly" note to evill. Tell him how long u ve been banned and that u learned a lession (if u really really know u did something wack) -
Send him some nice personal words and try to be honest and discribe how bad it can be being on a mac without GR.

After a time when no more threads seem to appear on this ONE of u should gather all postings to a huge "Mercy Note" - and sign with all your names and nationalitys again with the promise: U all will keep an eye on the other and do everything to prevent any backflashes.

Get someone who can write really dramatically (like loud notes - hes damn good - maybe he can layout that basic note for u.

I cant believe Evill is so cruel when he gets this amnesty-petition that he doesnt let the most back (depending on what they did i guess).

well, if anyone is wondering, GameScouter is coming out the first and they will have 4 beta test b4 the real version comes out. I am on the list for the 4 beta's that will be tested. BTW i am on strike too. Evill is really pissing me off.. he think's he is god of the world

Bander... Yeah, we are all grateful for Scott making GR (which you tend to stress to us more then we like). We know we should be thanking him for making the program, which all of us know we are thankful. But do you think it's fair that you could be playing on GR for one second, then get off and come back later and you are permabanned. Now what the hell is that. Also, do you think it's fair that you didn't know your friends account was banned but yet you go on the account and now your account gets banned. But then when you go to email Scott, either he doesn't reply to it, or he says you know what you did. (Of course you know what you did, you went on an account you didn't know was permabanned.) But, he doesn't know that because when you go on another person's account that is permabanned, the reason they are banned now shows up for your account. Example: Say your friend was banned for advertising on GR, well now that you went on his account (which I remind you that you didn't know was banned) that reason that he is banned now is shown up when he checks to see why you were banned. I mean c'mon Bander, you stress the fact that Scott made GR, but sometimes it can be just outright dumb.

Yes, I can see banning people if you don't want them to advertise anything. But not a permabanned. If you are going to ban someone for advertising it should only be for a week at the max. That is a pretty easy lesson to learn.

Also, the only reason that you should be permabanned (and I mean the only reason) is if you tried to hack into GR in any way. Other then that, all others reasons to be banned their should be a week at the max for the bann. I mean if you were simply advertising I don't think it takes you years to learn your lesson. I think it would take you two minutes to learn a lesson, therefore, a 30 minute ban would be neccessary. Evill has gotten to strict.

When I used to be allowed on GR, I would be seeing people posting websites and everything in the main chat. So how is fair that they can do it but we can't?

We should respect Scott, but why should we if he doesn't respect us, which is obviously true since he never replies to emails, nor does he let you private message him in GR.

I'm all for a petition for GR, let's get something done about this.

Eventually someone needs to make a list of everyone permabanned that we know of, with their names, account number, and possibly why thy were banned.  Just for informative purposes, if nothing else.

Mauti could post it somewhere in the members section, right below all the damns and dezgra.
