That's not OSX, it's a "skin" or "theme" set to look like OSX (or if someone was very cleaver, using resedit to change the settings right in the finder). ?It's just borrowing *some* of the looks of OSX (couple icons and the window bar's size and close buttons for example).

As for the rest of it, *IF IT'S REAL*, someone didn't do bad work. ?Assuming it's real, someone figured out enough about how the GR servers are relaying data to your local GR app... ?someone that knows enough to either use eitherpeek very effectively to monitor what data is transmitted for what field OR that got the source for GR and has enough knowledge to figure out that by disabeling some of the features (chat, hosting games, and I don't know what others may be involved) that the GR servers don't get the required information for the ban to take effect. ?

I'm just giving some silly wild ass guesses here (odds are I'm close on some and way off on others)... but if it's real, it's beyond most people's skills to pull off. ?It's not Peekay's work, from his posts, this is way beyond him. ?So you just keep including yourself in it Peekay, maybe you'll fool yourself into believing that you are A#1 H@X0r!

So again, if it is real, It shouldn't take Evil long to figure out a way to shut it down (everything built can be destroyed, easier, it is the nature of the universe) with a new release of GR or a tweek of the GR servers. ?Also, anyone using this would *probably* not show up in the game room you created (allowing you to verify that they are working around GR) and using a server password will probably put a stop to them still! ?It is a pain in the ass, but also a pretty sure fire way to keep them out of your games if you want to.

So *SOMEONE* did some hard work here (again, if it's real) and some decent work from the looks of it... but it would be really funny if Evil had them banned in less time then it took them to create it. ?Bets anyone?

Loud, I think before you post again regarding Freaky or any matters dealing with the not-so-underground underground, you need to hear a few things. Hopefully this will clear up a few misconceptions of yours.

And it?s perfectly fine for me to post about the stuff I?m going to mention because it?s harmless, at least in the hands of someone like Peekay. He thinks he's a big shot because he found some of the Team2600 stuff, though their work is decent, it's not the type of stuff that can do real damage.

As I implied above, none of what I?m about to talk about is really ?underground.? The general rule of thumb is, if it is public, then it?s not a REAL hacking, cracking, and or underground site.

First of all Freaky isn?t sick and if I could look at his IP, I could probably be able to tell you that the post was not made by Freaky at all. His website is harmless, the Trojans, virii, ?hacks?, and whatever else he has on his site are for wanna-be hackers.

Apple made it so people could easily modify the look of their computer. Essentially, the ability to use themes in OS 9 is the same thing that Kaleidoscope does. Themes are fun, though that particular one, probably Liquid, was banned by apple (cease and desist) because they are like that. A lot of so-called Mac rumor sites get the same thing with pictures of new products that are or come close to the official apple product.

So, that app looks pretty genuine. Just a hacked version of GR is all or a real-basic made app. Pretty simple to do, all you have to do is crack into a version of GR, look at the coding and go from there.

Regardless, they aren?t very smart, and evill no doubt will have them banned pretty quickly and probably knowing the control freak that he is, beef up security in the app and on his servers so no one else can do that.

All very well said.  And you are right, it does have the "real basic" look to it.  I agree with everything you said except 2....
1) whereas this just was the liquid desktop theme, you can use resedit to change your system appearance (apple even put out the instructions back about OS 7.5, and they were known before that)... but this is just a theme, and it's not important.
2) cracking into the GR source (or using a packet sniffer to figure it out and reverse engineer it, less likely) are not common skills,  and would be beyond Peekay's meegar abilities.  It would take someone who actually understands a bit of programming.... this is obviously not Peekay.  Even if given what resources needed to be manipulated, it would take a lot of help for the script kiddies to make the Real Basic version (your 1 hour assessment implies that they can read and think on their own).  They always said they "got a little help" from someone.... likely somone in the know felt pity and gave them his work (maybe even had them run down a script or 3)

With that said (or written, as the case may be), I bow to one who can also see the obvious.

I think in that picture, the desktop looks like that because he is using Kaleidoscope.  It's a program where you can change the look of your windows and cursor and system sounds.  I think the 'theme' he is using on that picture is called Aqua .... or Mac OSX Aqua.  I know this because I used to use that theme and program too, but it made R6 crash quite a bit more.
