Nah I really don't like this hardcore music. For me music reflects feelings and nah I am never so agressive as these songs are! I like songs from the 80s like Supergrass: Alright; I don't like Monday, Come on Eileen,..... BritPop bands like Blur and Pulp. Of course I also like the only Austrian pop artist that became the number in the American Top 100 Falco. Die ?rzte, Die Totenhosen, Smashing Pumpkins, some songs of Lenny Krevitz, Smash Mouth and lots of others. I don't have one favourite. It depends on my mood what I hear. One very cool and unknown band is Anger! To sum up I hear everything except Boygroups, Heavy Metal and songs older than 1980!

Oasis, SR71....  there are so many cool bands ....  Wink Grin

wrath i realy liked your artist. mauti i usually dont like  music that everyone see on tv. i agree with bander about the hardcore style, but thats the way i like it. but when im looking for some relax my favorites are beck, portishead, lamb, nick cave, portishead. in these days im writing a new screenplay and i listen to fight club original soundtrack. the dust brothers. it gives me inspiration.
now i have to go.

Ebola I don't think that you see much of the bands I mentioned on TV at least not on VIVA and MTV  especially the songs from the 80s! But general I know what you point at!  Smiley

I'm probably showing my age here, but I've liked Barenaked Ladies since we used to see them in the bars in college.  Toad the Wet Sprocket's also a favorite.  Verve Pipe would be cool, if they weren't still playing the same songs they used to play at all the frat parties 12 years ago (figure Freshman was written back when we were in college, and made a lot more sense back then).

And if you think that's mellow, I'm on the back portch right now listening to James Taylor, sipping a cold Molson and loving life on an airport.  Looks like a nice sunset.... (ok, now that sounds gay)

mauti the only one of bands you have mentioned i didnt see on tv is Die ?rzte. in fact, is the only one of your the i dont know Wink
try  these ones out
static-x HASTE (VERY COOL. almost unknown out of US), kill2this,STAIND (one of the best american bands ever),
die section.VISION OF DISORDER,PRO-PAIN
for true crust music i suggest AnalCunt (idiot-commedy-ironic-funny),WORLD (i think you cant find anything about these italian guys.) agatochles, cripple bastards, MORBID ORGANS MUTILATION (japan),WARTOYS.
guys i finally got the last (the 4th) Presidents of USA album: freaked out and small. i love these guys.
bye

Ebo - lets see wich of my "all time" faves u like:
(most are back from my indie times - when i had that
really REALLY worn out leather jacket, long fatty hair and a guitar that i was unable to play):

The "tuff" stuff: recommended for sleepy morning hours

KREATOR
HOLY MOSES
BIOHAZARD
SEPULTURA (the old shiat)
DOA (Death. On. Arrival - massive punk)
MOT?RHEAD (good ole lemmy is still there...)
TANKARD
HELMET

Okay now lets take a look into the "mostly chillout" box:

SONIC YOUTH
SOUNDGARDEN (Flower)
THE YOUNG GODS
PRIMUS
PIXIES
NIRVANA (The "Bleech" Album)
BEASTS OF BOURBON

So and now some samples for - ahm - lets say
its "during being nice to girls" music: (peekay can imagine "boys" instead "girls") -

PORTISHEAD (strong recommended)
KRUDER & DORFMEISTER (best export music coming from austria! also known as: K&D)
WALDECK (Balance Of Power)
WAGNER ("Valk?renritt "or "Hummelflug")
MY OWN FREESTYLE recorded on MD (i rapped a lot about fukcing there haha! dirthy ole me)
ANA HOT IMMER DES BUMMERL (austrian country music)

yeah - this is the only stuff that came into my mind.
i also hate comemrcial shit (i like it when its surprising good EVEN when its commerce but thats rare ... )

yes and in hip hop i am one of these 100.000.000 who like (commercial?) eminem hehe. and cypress hill, wu tang clan, beatnuts, quasimoto etc.

but most i like rap in german language (cuz then its for us here excactly like for u U.S.guys over there - we can understand it all and they talk about things that concern us here).

Who might be interested try to get some MP3s at Napster:

KING KOOL SAVAS (or "KKS" or "KOOL SAVAS")
hes from berlin - real dirthy underground and one
of the BEST german battle MCs - origin Turkish!

ASSAD (Berlin too - hes really philosophical, fast and has very cool battle rhymes)

KREUZFELD & JAKOB (as seen on tv seen on jams. great)

ECHORAUSCH (munic underground)

FEINKOST PARANOIA (from munic called "monaco city")

DEUTSCHLEHRA (from meidling/vienna MY crew)

yeah and there are lotta more but who cares THIS is enuff for now Wink

cool thread and ebo - these friends wich didnt want to the club - TELL EM THEY SUCK! hahahaha. and do what i msged u dude! great weather here and u are NOT that far away - compared to loud and myself Wink

greets (vienna calling)

yeah bander. your old faves are good and i still listen to some of them (sepultura, bio).
i love portishead. a few years ago, ive listened to them for like 8 hours in a row together with a friend of mine.
if you like portished you MUST llok for lamb , smoke city, and the great NICK CAVE. and if u like dub/ska listen to Asian Dub Foundation or King Prawn.
ciao ciao
