Ok, I am a touch worried. Earlier while playing GhR my Gameranger dissconnected when leaving a game...
Ok this happens occasionally. what is odd is that now i cannot reconnect to GR... Yet everyone else can. So i think maybe its a glitch... i wait and i try again. Nothing - i get the same "cannot connect to server message... check your proxy settings and try again". BS
So i delete my preferences... no
So i delete my copy of Gameranger and go to download a fresh copy...  and now the weirdest thing

I Cant access the gameranger website! I kid you not, it just dosn't work. even when i tried to download the file directly ie http://www.gameranger.com/downloads/gameranger.sit  it didn't f*cking work

Now i've not done anything to warrent any form of ban on GR - And im certainly aware of how even if i was banned it would stop me getting on to the GR website...

Any suggestions, comments, Help?.... PLEASE!!

Similar things have happened to me in the past, I don't think it's a ban, unless someone banned me and unbanned me within a hour's time...

But then again I could be wrong... Huh

Hehehe... Knowing most cables to date, everyone uses a straight-through CAT 5 UTP. What occurs is a blockage, and so your computer sent a jamming signal to stop all traffic flow to clear up the medium. Problem is that the Designated Router in the area for you BFG is not doing anything to help it. So take Civic's advice, and restart your internet connection.

Yea, I've had this problem before, and today I just tried logging on for the first time in a week, and it worked.

I used to have a similar situation where i could connect to certain sites and others simply didnt work, which drove my crazy since the sites that didn't work were so arbitary and there was no pattern to it.

After suffering from this for a week or so without having a clue of what was going on, i heard from the news that my ISP had been having some problems with something... and after awhile that something was fixed...so maybe it's your ISP?

Note that were i refer to any material property related to computers as "my" or "mine" it means my parents  Grin

:MoD: BFG,

You didn't happen by any chance to put in a good word or generally ask about the status of my ban in an open forum?

You never know you may have joined me on the outer..... ;-)

I cannot connect to Gameranger whenever my free HardDrive space falls below 100 MB.

Well it appears i was just being parnoid Wink After 20 minutes of thumb twiddling, a few double whiskys, and a computer restart for the first time in a few months, i connected without a flicker of hesitation and suddenly www.gameranger.com was open for business (heh) again! Very bizzare... Btw tried connecting from another account, on another comp over the network and that worked dandy so it wasn't an issue with the router and or netconnection... but it was very bizzare..

sorry dingo i didn't quite leave the inner, i saw the light but i was dragged back Wink gl on the outer!!
