Nope, Varcon and MacSoft have been scared off by the idiotic RS and R6 fans clamouring for patches and all sorts of goodies while never once thanking them.

If I was a game company, I would think three times about continuing to cater to these dumb fans.

Anyways, If you just look at the fan base, you'd see that the worst of the worst dumbasses play RS. It, and R6 before it, were magnets for dumbasses.

Then again, the main reason a lot of people are clamoring for patches is that MacSoft screwed the game up the first time around.   I have a lot of games that work better than R6 and RS, but not many that work worse.

Ghost Recon will be come for the mac if a game publisher belives it will make them money.  Thats what their in it for.  Mac pirates pretty much dig their own graves considering how small of a market we are anyways.  Anyway, Varicon probably has the rights to port Red Storm titles but it would be nice if we got a good Westlake port.

Oh my, not another one.  It's amazing how little people know about VPC.  VPC does not support hardware aceration, ie, your video card.  So, no way in hell Ghost Recon would run on the current version of VPC.

lol Toon, there some ppl who know nothing about VPC and other emulation, b/c they don't know anything about PC's.
I already told someone in an other Post that no Games that need a hardware accelararion would ever run on VPC b/c of Direct X which allows the software use the hardware directly but Direct X don't support any MAC hardware ( what is absolutly logical, that is why VPC never got implemented the hardware support and IT IS A EMULATION , and NOT A REAL OS WHICH USES THE HARDWARE DIRECTLY!!!!!

I got Ghost Recon today, it's really cool - fast and impressive Maps.

But STUPID SP BOTS, really bad AI. in MP is great fun!! but maps are a bit too big for some play with small teams. when u get some teams of about 5 or more players each, then its getting really great!!

I really hope that it comes out to mac, so we can play it again together!!

I also had the chance to play Ghost Recon on one of my friends PC and desperately hope for a miracle to see Ghost Recon on a Mac (very desperate and probably unrealistic hopes).

Well anyway the graphics is excellent (very steep hardware requirements) and having the chance to experience EAX surround sound (WOW) I was really impressed by the tense atmosphere.

However in the single player missions I found some unbalanced game play.

1) You still can?t pick up weapons, ammo, and detonation kit from a shot team member (that would be very realistic). If the member of your team with the detonation kit is shot the whole mission has failed. You can?t get his kit and just go on with the mission
2) You can improve the abilities of your own basic soldiers by spending combat points earned in each mission, but in combination with the quick save option during the mission you start to save the game every two second in order to save your precious team members with their hard earned skills.
3) I won?t admit that the enemy AIs are dumb. In fact they are pretty intelligent and demanding. But your own team AIs act as intelligent as a bunch of cacti in the middle if a desert (this can leave you kind of lonely in a fire fight). You often have to switch between your teammates to get them behind some cover only to turn around and discover the others are still standing widely open in the harm's way.
4) The maps are huge and just one AI sniper is able to wipe out your whole team. You have no chance to give your team fire protection with massive salvoes from your machine gun. As soon as you are in the detection range you are dead. No chance to detract your enemy?s attention how so ever.
5) In Ghost Recon you receive extra points for objectives that you have to complete in order to gain access to the specialists for your team. But as soon as you kill all the enemies before you've accomplished extra objectives, then those objectives are not completed and the mission is over.

Don?t get me wrong, I really loved the game, but I hate to praise a game with any lack of criticism.

in some cases i have to agree with u, but

1) its not so unrealistic that u cant put the bomb form your demo expert, b/c in real life a sniper also coulnd handle this tipe of equipment, he will blow up his own head and that of his alies with it  Tongue Tongue Tongue

2) AI of the enemie: hmm, u can lie in some budhes and pick every enemy out of the game without beiing detected from a enemy who is 5 feet away!

3)This game is a R6 game and not Operation Flashpoit, it has it's own idias which makes it unique. Every player has his own equipment and no other can use it!

4) hmm i naver had the problem taking all enemies out and loosing the mission, i did it several times and all point were automaticly a success, dunno why it dont work by your friend.
