@Joka: the CacheSizeMegs settings have almost no effect on the FPS in UT2k3, so in RvS the matter won't be very different. Epic even suggests that you leave this setting at 32MB for UT2k3.

AFAIK, increasing the CacheSize has absolutely no effect on FPS. It does, however, shorten the initial level-loading time. I bumped mine up from the default 32 to 96, and my level loads got around 20-30 seconds shorter. They're still long, but not miss-the-first-round long anymore.

Maybe its just me again but...
How come the maps load faster when the server changes map (you know the "waiting for server response"). Where as the first time you join the room, you first load the map for ages and then you still get the "waiting for server response"...

Hell i aint gonna fork out ?30 for a sweet new game and play it looking like that!?! Christmas there are freeware games that look better than that, has he messed about with the files or is that just the settings on the lowest possible levels?

Did the revolt guide and this is how it looks like now, cept i changed the maxtextureLOD to 3 where as he suggested 8 and the default is 12.
Anyway, now i have somewhat acceptable framerates and in exchange the game looks worse than quake1. These screenshots were taken when i was hosting a game alone, no AI and no other players...sooo.....whos up for another season of GhR?
