Just a guess, but I gonna say this question was directed at me....

To be honest, between the R6 (Yamaha, not Rainbow guys... it's a very cool motorcycle too) and the GSX-600R, you wont notice any difference (except for the rider).  Any stock new 600 sportbike (R6, GSX-R, Ninja6R, F4i, or TT600) all pull almost the exact same numbers.  On paper, the R6 has a very small advantage.  The GSX-750R does have a sizable advantage on the 600's in horspower.  The GSX-750R is one of the fastest stock bikes there is.  It's also one of the best on the track.

None of you have made a bad choice.  The most important thing to do is try out many bikes and find the best for you.  I went through 3 used bikes until I found the ones that fit my riding style the best.  That's when I started buying new ones.

Also, just so people don't get you to think that cc's = a faster bike, the R6 has done the course at Willow Springs California (one of the best) faster the it's big brother the R1.

Bottom line, the best rider will ride faster on those bikes.  If the three of you haven't yet, get to rider safety school.  You may laugh, but there are more GSX-750R's for sale used with under 500 miles on them then you can count.   All because some kid got it as his first bike based on it's reputation.  Then, they "floor it" around a corner and learn what it means to "lay down" a new bike.  These bikes have serious power stock... so learn 'em before you burn 'em man.

Oh, forgot about the numbers for you....

Here ya go (all times are stock):

? ?Bike            1/4 Mile Time and speed reached
Yamaha R6                10.75 (127.6mph)
Suzuki GSX600R       10.69 (126.6mph)
Suzuki GSX750R       10.26 (135.6mph)

Sorry, didn't have 0-60 or top end times on those bikes. ?Figure the stock numbers are going to be between 3 - 4 seconds for 0-60mph (0-100kph) and about 165mph for the 600's and 175 for the 750. ?Again, thes are for stock, no mods and are guesses, but will be close (the GSX-750R may even be under 3 seconds stock 0-60).
