Considering i lost this pot, i mean post, in all the others, i will reply VERY late to all u askin how X fucked me behind the ear...

Installing, it is a breeze i understand that, but...when i did install it, mind u I have 610mb of ram, i'm sitting there waiting for the installer reading the latest issue of SportCompact Car, to finish..it goes on it's way, and somehow hits a snage....and crashes..fine i'll restart and try again...

BRRRUUUUNNNUUUNNNNNNNN (the mac sound)..

wtf fuck is this?...a blinking question mark on a disk...

Dest: "Oh you stupid slutty bitch of a Mac, u better find the HD, and it better not be lost..."

Dest's Mac: "I'm sorry, i have no clue where I am booting from?"

Dest: (panicking) "NOOOOOOOOOO i have work on you biatch!"

Dest's Mac: "I still have no clue what i'm doing here?"

Dest: Restart.....BBBRRRRUUUUUNNNNNN(mac sound)

Dest's Mac: "Oh i know where I am now, but where the hell is my system folder?"

Dest: "Fucker!" BRRRUUUNNNNNNNN (mac sound) holding "C"

Dest's Mac: "La deee da dee da deee da yadda yadda"

Dest: Double clicks on system folder

BBRRRRUUUNNNNNNN( mac start-up sound)

Dest: "Finally"

Dest Mac: "Oh i'm sorry, verification noticed something wrong with your HD, plz use repairDisk to fix it"

Dest: "You Bitch" (clicks on repair disk)

Dest's Mac: "I'm sorry, the application that fixes my HD, does not work for this kind of problem"

Dest: W>T>F!

Mac: "I'm sorry, i'm going to crash or freeze everything u try to open or use."

Dest: "OH COME ON!...!" (looking for the problem)

BRUUUUNNNNNNNNNNNNN (mac sound)..holding shift...

Mac: "That was a good sleep, but i'm still screwed"

Dest: "How the fuck do I delete this fuckin OS X shit!"..

(flips throught the latest MacAddict at the time)

Dest: "A-HA!!!!" (starts to delete the Os X files, prefs and X system)

BRRRUUUUNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN

Mac: "you may use some applications, but files are corruptted"

Dest: "Ur gonna die"

Dest: What the hell is this??....RS intro movie size is 90000000000000023444455 GB?"

Dest: "Hmmmmm...that' not right"

Mac: I'm sorry I cannot delete this file..."

Dest: "WHY!"

Mac: "Beats Me?"

(mind u the mac was crashing like a maniac now....and only some applications worked...THANK GOD Roxio toast worked!)

Dest: Burning important files and apps...

Mac: "AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA>>>LMAO!!"

Dest: Time for a fresh start..........shit!

And that's when i had to re-install my mac from OS 8.6...then to 9, and re-install everything, and on top of it all, i lost my GR account and pass, so now i'm like the 6997634836349 person on GR....when is h ould be like 2456 (in that area)....

I tried everything possibly imaginable to rescue my mac, but to no avail..all because a couple of corruptted files...and Os X hell.

Mind u, i'm going to try to install it again, but not until i get the OS X.1 update...so i can install it right after...

Well, I think you can get your account info from the GR website by having it sent to your e-mail, but if you changed your e-mail since you are probably stuck with the new account.  I certainly don't have my ID and pw and I've gotten it sent to me.

Dest,

When you installed OS X, did you reformat the HD?  Did you update to the latest ver of 9 first (assuming you didn't reformat and erase all the old stuff)?

When you do it again, back up all your data files and reformat before you install.  It's just good practice.

I've found a solution to get around any formating or installing difficulties.  Every time Apple releases a new system, I buy a new computer that has it pre installed, works wonders.

Dest.... What type of Mac do you be on? I got OS X Beta when it was first out, and if fucked me iMac up badly... So I took it off and reinstalled to 9.*.* Then I got OS X (10.0) and it was a bitch... Crashed and burned... Reinstall time Smiley Then X.I (10.1) came out. 10.1 works like a DREAM. I have had it installed since the week after it came out, and I'll be damned if I have crashed more then 5 times TOTAL. BTW - I am on a iShit (iMac) 400 DV + with 384MB RAM, and 85GB HD.

Rom,

I have Os X (10) only, i got it off my buddy. I failed to say that I installed it when my comp had 128 MB of RAm, which was a mistake...it worked, but sluggish...

I'm running a blu and white G3 400Mhz, at 610MB of Ram...it should work ok now, but i gotta get the free updater!

Ah... The extra RAM will really boost your performance, I think (It helped my computers performance increadably). I never bought X (10). I borrowed if from my friend, and it didn't work, so I didn't use it. I don't think that the 10.1 updater is free... I think if you HAVE 10 its like 120 - X amount in mail-in-rebates. Check at Apple.com... Try it again, with 10.1 - I don't think that 10.0 worked well for very many people, unless they used brand new hardware.. My friend has a G4 450MHz and 10.0 didn't run well on it at all, but 10.1 rox on it...

So, get 10.1 and install it! Now!
