Now a days when i log into GR....I see no-one....it suxs

The RS Mac gamming nation is dropping like dead flies, and i see less and less cb's and even less games being played...it's kind of depressing seein this die, and through all the insults u guys give RS, u have to admit u love it, and u love playin it online...

Have u ever been on a pecee multiplayer server for RS..it's nuts, everyone is playing and there is tons of supports, and cb's happin like hell...it's fuckin depressing sometimes...

I know this is in part to crappy Mac support on the corporation part, man u would think that a computer build on the foundations of graphics would pose a better intrest to companies..but the peecee bastards are takin over my easy operating system...noooo!

Now, everytime I log on, I see cocky ass players who not only stink up the game with nonsense threats and chatter, but they back it up with fantastically shitty gameplay...

I hope to god they don't jip us on Ghost Recon....if they do, i'm blowing up the Macsoft Parking lot with a Molitov cocktail party..lol...

No, I don't love nor have ever loved playing RS online or offline.   Anyway, the R6 gaming died about 3 months ago.  I feel it is because people are switching to OS X and losing interest in playing games that force them into classic or restarting.  Lets just wait for RtoCW to be supported by GR and we can have our mac community there as kicking the ass of these PeeCee losers is getting tiring.

I agree with Bondo, people are switching over to OS X. Therefore, losing interest in mac gaming. I know myself that I have switched over to OS X on my iBook 300 now that I have added a bigger RAM chip, making X run SMOOTH. I rarely, if not at all play any games anymore.

well the same happened to me too: with the switch to MacOS X the only progs which prompt me to boot in 9 are UnrealTournament to play TacOps, Final Cut Pro and Photoshop... well evem GR doesn't run natively under OS X Sad

I never said people were losing interest in Mac gaming, I'm sure there are a lot of people playing RtoCW and AOEII and other games that run in X and don't use GR.  I think things will eventually get back on track once GR runs in X with support for many of the X games.

I believe so too, but I won't be doing any gaming for a long time. I gotta start worrying about what's going on in school and my sports. And working.... so I'll be on rarely but not gone completely.

No offence, but if you did read at teh GR site you will notice its never coming to the Mac, so I guess we are 'jipped'. I think we should torch them Smiley I personaly havn't played games since around christmass, when i left my Mac in OS 9 so I could whip yall (jk) in RS... For school and everything else, I perfer OS 10.1.2 becuse its faster, no crashing, and more secure. I cant wait until PS/GA(GamerAnger)/FW/DW and others come out for X. And games - RtWC will be out soon, and most new games for the Mac will be in X, anyways. Im off to play GTA3 now. Laterz

Ok, I'm sick and tired of hearing from the peanut gallery on Ghost Recon.  Rom, you tell me where on the site that it says "Ghost Recon will never be ported to Macintosh".  Please, show me.  Because, I've read the site.  You know what I see... I see things like "supporting windows 95 and higher and X-box".  I see things like "currently, no linux support".  I can't seem to find the words NEVER SUPPORT MAC anywhere in there... funny that.  Not in the FAQ, not in the forums, not anywhere that I looked.

Besides, it's not up to UBISOFT you know.... it's up to companies like MacSoft, that PORT the game over (you know, like R6 and RS were).  MacSoft would have to work out a deal with Red Storm and then port it over.  Now, we know that MacSoft is usually a bit slow in doing this, but we can hope for the best.

Also, when I read the phrasing about Linux in a few places... sounds like they are looking into it, or farming it out.  Either way is good for us, because you can always run X-windows on your mac.  Also, if it does get ported to Linux, I'm sure it will ported to OS X (since that's not as big a leap as OS 9).

Either way, unless you can show where Red Storm has said "Ghost Recon will never be ported to the Macintosh platform", stop misleading people.  I've only ever heard this from you and Asterax Rom... what is it, need some news for "th3sp0t"??

Like Grift was saying, no developer (Red Storm and UbiSoft) will not allow a port when it comes to computers as they don't take the financial risk.  If MacSoft wants to port it, they pay UbiSoft for the rights to port it, and then they do all the work and reap the rewards or pay the losses, UbiSoft gains money either way.  With console systems it is slightly different as some companies are given money to keep the game exclusive for a given time (microsoft paid itself to keep Halo to the X-Box until March when they will let it be released on computers  Wink ).

Getting back on topic...

Gaming for every game is bound to go downhill. Class acts, and legendary clans are bound do die out and leave the game. Bound to come (for example in RS) are class faggots such as Grimey/Rock/homeboy, Romulus, and any other dipshit who doesnt know his mouth from his asshole. Shitty clans such as ?K, OS, and elements of X?F also ruin game play.

RS has seen a major decline in quality, but there are still some bright spots...let us not lose sight of them or RS is a goner.

I've had RS since it first came out. I really liked R6 and I thought RS would be even better. I haven't really started playing it till about 3 months ago. And at first, I hated it because I wasn't used to it. But then I got used to it and got real good, and that was it I was hooked. I loved playing it even on my iBook 300mhz. Now I am just too busy, wrestling with practices everyday, and then soccer at nite after wrestling. I just ain't online enough to play it.

Also, with my laptop switched to X (which is real nice now that I my computer is at 288mb RAM.) So even when I am online, I don't have 9 on my computer, I have X. (9 is on my external). So when I am online I am only talking to my friends and surfing the web. And with the AirPort and iPod I got for xmas, I am rarely sitting in one spot.

I have 1 question...

if all u ppl who say how good X is, and when u got it, u say that u hardly game all the time because u got X...

I got X i tried to install it, twice, and it fucked my system 10 ways from last sunday..and i got 610mb of RAM!...

plus there is no way in hell u are just sitting there in X, "using the operating system"....that's bullshit...i just want to know what u are doing?

serious....wha are u doing now since u got X?

Dest, how did you fuck up your comp? It runs perfectly smooth on my original iBook. I only keep X on my HD since it's only a 3gig HD. But, I have 9.2.2 fully installed on my external 40gig HD, that I use for 9.2.2 and my iPod music.

What do you mean just sit using the operating system? I am on AIM a lot and surfing and reading the web a lot. I always am doing stuff on X.

I really want to know how you fucked up your comp when you tried to install X. I find that odd, considering the install is pretty basic.

Dest,
I'm on OS X right now.  The only thing I do on OS 9 anymore is RS (So I leave the G4 with OS 9.... need that performance).  But I have OS X on an iBook right now and have not had any problems with it.

For the record, I use MS Office, BB edit, the Apple Developers Kit (java tools mostly), Star Craft, KDX, Graphics Converter and iTunes the most when I'm on OS X.  Oh, and surf the web, like now.

Like I said, RS is about the only thing I keep one machine booting in OS 9.

Well, one thing I like about X is that since I've started using it I haven't had the system crash once.  Whereas in 9 it crashed about 30 times a day (largely R6 and GR's fault).  Anyway, I spend time surfing, chatting, listening to iTunes, and playing loads of RtoCW test.

Like Bondo said, I haven't had one system crash yet on X. However on 9 I would crash about 2-3 times a week, considering the trick I used to keep it from crashing.

On X, I'm chatting, surfing the web, image converting, emailing, and anything else I find to do. I mean it's not like I'm bored just sitting on X. I am always finding out new stuff to do.

Dest, I don't see how X could of fucked your computer 3 times from last sunday. I mean, Grift and I are both on iBooks. I'm sure he is on the later special edition model, but still, I'm on the orginal iBook. 3gig HD, 32mb RAM (I added 256), 4mb video card, 300mz. I mean gosh, if it runs perfect on my computer, it should run perfect on any computer.

Yes Vapor, I'm on a bit faster machine (this one is an iBook 600 with 640 megs of RAM).  But I've run it on everything down to a G3 300.  The biggest factor I've seen is all about the RAM.  The more RAM you have, the better OS X likes it.  I tried it on a machine with only 128 megs.... bah.... it was a G4 500, and it ran slower then my old G3 366 iBook with 512 megs of RAM (slower may not be the right term... cludgier, clunkier, you get the picture).

So, I've said it once, I'll say it a million times... buy more RAM while it's cheap.  I mean, I picked up the 512 meg dimm for this new iBook for under $90 with shipping.  That's a bargin.  If you can't scrape together $90, add an extra 64 megs for like $12 in the latest ad's I've seen.  Anyone that can fork out the bucks for a night at the movies can find the cash for some extra RAM.  It doesn't have to be 1.5 gigs (even though it is cool).

Grifter, I didn't say anything about Ghost Recon...I really have no idea what you mean by that...  Anyways, with all these people joining GR, it's hard to keep track of who is who. So many new clans these days...I got out of all that  RS clan crap sometime ago...EF is my future...Yeah over 1500 frags in 2 days...
