Yes it's down.

and for those of you that don't know, Evill released a new update this morning, or today (in australia).

New update features include in game voice chat for premies.
Non-premies can no longer post links.

Also, there's a new Ghost Recon update (1.0.3)
This new update is entirely for gameranger.
Ex: Force full screen mode, clicking cancel goes back to gameranger, I forget what else, but download it anyway (forced)

Ya, I got that new update last night. Non-premies no links? Lil harsh but whatever puts food on the table.

since the new update is still not availlable (server will update our version to 3.4) I wonder if anyone tested it.

nono, the update was available when the server was up... and people tried the voice-chat already... my gr is updated to 3.4 already... if i only could login again

I tested the voice chat. It worked very well and was pretty cool

I think it was the update that brought down the server because it is not usually down for so long.

well, despite the fact that GR now has in game voice chat, it's still missing something very important (at least for me): VOX

frankly i'd have to put my talk keys so far away from where i could hit them instantly that i doubt i'd ever use it in a situation where i was under fire or something similar

i did ask evill if he would ever implement VOX, he said 'eventually'

Brain, I have two words for you.  Nostromo Gamepad.  =D

I just mapped the team chat down near my move keys and move the binoc's over.  First I tried moving it to where I kept my bound messages, but that didn't work out well.  But 5 minutes of remapping keys and it's all good now.

We played with the new game ranger voice chat last night and it was not bad. I mean so people came up choppy other could only do one way. Then some times it would die on others. Its no netfone buts its nice a simple. I kinda like it.

Can it work prior to the game starting? That way clans can discuss what map to choose etc?

     Yeah, once you're in GhR, the VoIP works. "Talk to all" always works fine, whether the game is started or not. Someone needs to test and see if the "talk to team" works before a game has started when random teams are off. If it does, then all is well.

     As for VOX, Bucc told me that that's the next thing Evill's adding. (And we all know how lovey-dovey they are.)

I tried testing mine with |!| Ross and he could hear me sometimes and other times not at all then it stops working. Does it have to do where it says left, right or centre?

I think it was netfone that was making it not work. I also was tying different keys. So something wasn't working right.

But for the first version of it I thought it was pretty damn good.

Can't wait for the next update.
