Mac OS X Unleashed

Well, I did something I thought I would probably never do: I bought a 1200 page book to guide me through a Mac OS. If before I had ever heard of OS X you had told me I would do this in the future, I would have thought you were crazy. I just got
Mac OS X Unleashed
by John Ray, and I must say from what I have seen so far this book is going to be invaluable. I am (and I'm guessing a good chunk of the other people in these forums are too) pretty much the target group the book is meant for: the long time Mac user who has little or no Unix experience who is interested in all the possibilities OS X and it's BSD underpinnings offer. If anyone else is looking to learn more about what you can do, I would definitely recommend checking this book out.

Ace,
Couldn't agree with you more. I have used UNIX for years, as well as LINUX... and I still think the book is valuable. Apple has put it's own little spin on BSD... they've hidden many directories and files that you would normally see (go find the /usr or /lib or /var directories... and find the httpd.config file.... you'll see what I'm talking about). Anyway, it's a great starter book for anyone that wants to get more into the guts of his OSX mac.
Oh, and on a different note, I have those tools you were asking about in a different thread Ace.
