Well, I did something I thought I would probably never do: I bought a 1200 page book to guide me through a Mac OS. If before I had ever heard of OS X you had told me I would do this in the future, I would have thought you were crazy. I just got Mac OS X Unleashed by John Ray, and I must say from what I have seen so far this book is going to be invaluable. I am (and I'm guessing a good chunk of the other people in these forums are too) pretty much the target group the book is meant for: the long time Mac user who has little or no Unix experience who is interested in all the possibilities OS X and it's BSD underpinnings offer. If anyone else is looking to learn more about what you can do, I would definitely recommend checking this book out.

There are only 10 types of people in the world. Those who understand binary and those who don't.

Ace,
Couldn't agree with you more.  I have used UNIX for years, as well as LINUX... and I still think the book is valuable.  Apple has put it's own little spin on BSD... they've hidden many directories and files that you would normally see (go find the /usr or /lib or /var directories... and find the httpd.config file.... you'll see what I'm talking about).  Anyway, it's a great starter book for anyone that wants to get more into the guts of his OSX mac.

Oh, and on a different note, I have those tools you were asking about in a different thread Ace.
