Ill have to take the Typhy anti-camp side. In RS Single player the team rushes...the terrosits camp...so does that make campers terrorists and rushers sexy? I think so.

There has never been a great player who camps. I can take out any camper, no matter how good they might be. You just have to extra careful as you go room to room. I simply don't find such room to room tactics nearly as fun.

Apparently once upon his high horse Typhy has a hard time getting down. But let this not discredit his arguements. What I think he's trying to say is, any great rusher can defeat any great camper. Also that even though that is true havign to spend the whole game worrying over campers is simply fucked....(Yeah I jsut sort of took out the hgih and might typhy part).

Accually to be completely honest the only times I've played aginst you I've only killled by you on SnowBase when you hid in boxes with C4 on the door. And on Chalet where you sniped the gaurdhouse. Everygame where you tried to rush you died and cursed something. And I believe you said something else like "I'm having a bad day"....tisk tisk.

Just to throw in a classic myst:

Where's the joy is this camping? You haven't defeated the odds, you haven't killed anyone in a hard fought battle. You could be eating a peice of yummy pizza as you press the mouse to set off your C4. What's your goal in camping? Is it to simply piss everyone else off?

I have to say I don't give a fuck about how anyone plays, if you get pissed off it's because the camper is good, it's a strategy that seems to work since so many people do it. If someone should adapt, it's the people who get pissed off because other people are camping.

Typhy, What I am saying is rushers airnt soo great...you say "any fool can camp"..any fool can rush too and get off a lucky head shot.  Which I might add is easier with a tight ret. weapon *cough* PDW *cough*, like you use..than a M4 or other high kick weapons. And i think camping hightens the game play.  I find the game more enjoyable if I have to search for my target sometimes, then just meet in the center of CSL and have a shoot out, but thats just me.

Isn't that interesting - over half the guns in the game have a reticule tighter or equal to that of the PDW.

When I'm wounded, I go to my PCish crouch tactics. The instant I see a person, I crouch down. Never do I fall back and camp.

 

I find the game more enjoyable if I have to search for my target sometimes, then just meet in the center of CSL and have a shoot out, but thats just me.
 

Personally, I find a firefight a lot more fun than running around aimlessly until I find someone sitting in the corner of a room, with a block of C4.

People who do this make up the second biggest group on my block list. ( Second only to Ghost Recon players, under the command god's gift to assholes, |c Splinter. )

Personally, I don't consider myself having played well in a game, unless I have 4-8 kills, and my team wins. Guys who do this *cough* Mug *cough*, get at the most 1-2 kills per game. Nading like this isn't the tactic of a great player, nor of someone who wants to improve, this is someone who's satisfied with being an asshole. [/color]

First off, I know you do...we all do...I can't help how sexy I am. Even I love me.

Secondly classfying all rushers as PDW users is incorrect. I Use a PDW 25% of the time, a M16 a2 25%, a G3A3 25%, and a UMP 25%. The only reason I would camp is if the team was doing horribly and we needs a win...moral and all...you'd be suprised how that 1 win counteracts a 10 loss streak.

True Typhy, but last time i checked in the time you fire 9 pistol shots, you could have emptied a whole pdw mag and be reloading. 30 to 9...hmmm...
Yes you are right, I forgot about the uzi and skorp. I do love the skorp, but as for other smgs..they have more kick.  You bullits will spread more randomly with a 10a2, than with a pdw. Thats the point i was making on the tight ret. weapon issue.  I favor the M4, i really like its power.  

And finally, I have seen you camp. On Chalet, in the dark corner on the left side of the guardhouse, but you must have forgot.  

I admit, I dont camp as much as I used to.  While its fun, you are right that killing someone face to face in a rush is much more gratifying (sorry about the spelling) than if they dont even know you are there.  

By the by, hows the ankle?  My spleen is still messed up, I miss soccer..its killing me not to play everyday

Well, obviously you are on the losing team, with that attitude.

Adaptation, is something a skillful player can handle in a very rapid matter.  Nade tossing and Camping have skill involved.  If you're not a good camper, a good rusher will do away with you np.  If you're a good nader, you can toss nades with a deadly precision.  All in all, it takes skill to do EVERYTHING in RS.  

The arguement really stands at: It's not as fun to play vs campers.  But it's a tactic that you gotta know how to do and deal with, like I said before, due to CB's, where EVERYTHING goes.

First off, i said the first few games..was it 10..i dont feel like checking. Second you werent owning, you died first by rushing while most of us (foxy, myself, sano) ran down stairs and got our kills in the basement.  I remember rushing up the steps and getting a pistol shot off, killing an opponate before he could throw his nade.  Thirdly, I have never once (in my 1.5 on GR and RS) every said "save some for me". Never, Im just happy to win. I dont care how many kills i get in each game,  but i do care when im doing good and someone on my team starts being a dick because he is having a rough start and then generates lies to make himself  look like a hard ass elite player *cough* PAT *caugh*...dude wtf happened to you? I used to respect you...

And finally, Yes in the PAST you've owned me. Everyone has owned someone and I have been on the tail end of owns by many fantastic players. So who cares if you PWNED ME, any more i dont think the term means as much as it used to.  SO SHUT THE FUCK UP!  But why should i bother, you will type something else glorifying yourself or that day. So type wat you want, i dont care.

Basic line is that camping makes any game boring....yes boring as in no fun.

If you wanna log on and win at all costs, instead of having fun playing...hey it's your life, do what you want. Must be nice going to bed thinking "yay i sat in a corner for 5min doing nothing and then shot a guy".

Most of us play to have fun, i just done see the fun in sitting somewhere for the duration of the whole game.

If you RS people love camping, why do you call Ghost Recon a "camping"  game (which it isn't--campers aren't appreciated much)?  Also, if you think camping is ok and you think GhR is for campers, why do you say you don't like GhR because of the camping?  Contradictory, no?

camping in RS is like 3-4 minutes long max.

camping in GhR is 10-20 minutes long on the average (stats out of CB's)

nobody's promoting camping, other than jackal.  its obvious he has trouble getting kills in RS, so he resorted to camping, and has been getting off on it, since he's finally able to get kills.   Camping is stupid and in most RS games, campers are simply booted.  GhR has the big problem, since all the maps are so g'damn big, impossible to find a camper, or be encouraged to run around, and get picked off by a camper.  That's what makes GhR so much worse for camping.  The game more or less promotes it.   it's a war style game, where people simply don't rush the other side.  They strategically cover an area and each other.  In RS, it's a SWAT style game, where rush assaults are encouraged, due to the fact SWAT teams, indeed rush in and take out terrorists(campers )

RS is not for campers, so when people camp in the game, it makes the game THAT dumb

GhR is for campers, but when people camp, it drags the game on and on and on and on...  (like those 3-5 hour CB's I heard about)

Blade, camping in RS is 5-10 seconds. Camping in GHR is 2-3 minutes.

You GHR players claim your game isn't camper based: Bullshit. I consider a camper anyone who stands still for more than 3 seconds, or someone who remainds in the same are ( 5-10 feet ) for more than 10 seconds. Docks is the only non camper map in the whole game.

How can you generalize about GhR like that?  You must have only played with lame campers.  The best GhR players and clans don't camp.  I never camp in Ghost Recon and neither does BTs--it's the weak-ass players who lay down and hide at spawn.  I rush every map--it doesn't matter  how large or small or how many campers are hidng at heir spawn.  The funny thing is, the worst GhR campers are the RS guys who say that GhR is such a camping game.  They talk shit about how GhR is all camping, then when they play, they refuse to move from spawn or even stand up.  If the maps are so big like you RS guys say, why don't you move an inch?  Didnt anyone tell you that the soldiers in GhR have legs?
