its not spyware...
such is the plight of p2p downloading, or any type of thing you do where you connect to a webserver or anything online... it can be monitored and maybe there will be logs.

The BSA is a anti-software piracy group. They could monitor what you are downloading by connecting to a tracker with a torrentspy, but generally they are not confirmed to be monitoring this, and if they were they would be looking out for software piracy, not me downloading the latest feature length movie the on the day of its release. I know that people who post on versiontracker are generally lame faggots who write "programs" in applescript... and they generally harp about piracy's evils, its just an attempt to scare people away from using bittorrent.

spyware's general definition is something that monitors what your actions are on your computer, such as a keystroke logger, password sniffer, network monitor or something along those lines which reports the data to a 3rd party over the internet.

As for bittorrent its time is very limited, i've been using it for the last 8 months of its 13 month existance, and people are starting to find out about it. The existance of the program can't be killed, but the trackers can be stoped much easier... which is why the groups going after it will be going after the people who own the trackers, rather than the people who download. They can't do this to the typical p2p services.
time to buy some offshore serverspace in sealand...

Well, be it what it is, exchanging files is always risky business on GR.  Lips Sealed

Ouch. Shocked

That's because he offered a copy of UT2K3 to anybody on the main chat, with Evill kicking it right there.  I believe he said thru bit torrent too...

I personally don't have bit torrent, but I've heard the download speeds are very fast.  A friend of mine up in Canada downloaded Microsoft Office v.X in an hour.  Ah well, it's going down the drain now eh'?

nah, bit torrent is completly legal, the torrents their selfs are illegal, so if u have bit torrent on ur comp u cant get busted, although a bunch of illegal torrent sites like www.torrentse.cx have been pulled down after helping me not pay for movies and have fun watching em, there is other ones but there is a mass take down of those siteslpus they wont fight back cause their pussies
