Last night i was playing as normal and was about to join a room when my GR crashed...now this is pretty "normal" happens once in a while, no biggie.

But after/during this crash, GR popped up a window with lots of buttons: "debugger", "quit" and couple more, i presses debugger (seemed like a good idea at the time). After this i have a brief memory loss (I had enjoyed a few drinks prior to that)

Meaning i dont remember if the comp restarted or if the screen just blacked, or what. But since it changed everything including the background image i guess the screen did something

But the outcome was that  Gameranger F****d up my osX. ALL, everysingle computer setting was ereased to the "default" seetings. (like when your turning on your comp for the first time, with the huge dock)

So this crash only affected the OS, no applications.

And the conserning thing is that, this is the 2nd time it happened.

Has this happened to anyone else?
Anyone know what might cause this?

Thank you.

Oh yeah. im in osX jaguar 10.2.6 if it will help...

LoL Grin Grin yea i guess so...

But seriously, the damages are small
Just have to rearrange the dock, reset the deafault browser and change the desktop image.

But i find it alarming when a 3rd party application resets the whole OS, I dont know much (nothing) about programming but it dosent seem right.

Joka,

very strange!!!  Even stranger is the exact same thing happened to me too--around the same time even!!!!!

I have a huge Dock now with only the default icons!!!
About 30 apps I used to have in there vanished.  Also automatic dock hidng and showing was turned off.  I believe all my System Prefs were trashed somehow.  I was very agitated!!  WTF?  I am happy (not about you having trouble per se) that someone else experienced this so I am not crazy .  I guess I still might be crazy, but at least this strange occurrence has been verified by another person in another country.  Let's figure this out bro!!!!

Since the people this has happened to are all using 10.2.7, it's a reasonable assumption that it's a conflict between GR and 10.2.7. Tell Evill exactly what happened.

there is no 10.2.7.... there is a 10.2.6, but not a .7 i just did some research on apple and they have nothing available to the public about a .7 so maybe its a beta problem ( although i wouldn't see why they would beta a minor update.) just a thought, sorry if the problem that i seek to fix has already been corrected.

slow ass monkeys...

there is no 10.2.7 right now the latest is .6 .

When the G5 is shipping they will come with .7 not .6!

So Jaguar will be more optimized for the G5 processor!

I think Mysterio is wrong about using 10.2.7 because I highly doubt he has a developer seed.

As for the matter at hand, it's fairly easy to corrupt the Dock settings and other sys prefs. GR might have caused them to get corrupted, or something else might have been the problem and brought down GR in the process. There isn't really a way to know for sure, so get over it. It's only the dock and a couple other trivial things to change back anyways.

Fact: half of the people posting in here are retards.

Fact: there is no official release of 10.2.7.
