min req. for the pc are 600mhz with a 3D accelaration card. No idea what the Mac req. will be, and those spec's probably wont be released for some time...

i've heard of tough performance on even 1.5ghz pcs.
It might run on a computer at the min requirement, but it will look like shit. Hopefully rvs will come out after i buy my G5.

You think it will run good if i just like delete everything possible, and do as much as i can?  I got a G4 733MHz.  I hope thats good enough.  I wont be getting a G5 anytime soon so it will have to do.

The req's will be less than that of the pc. The pc minimum req will be the mac recommended. Just look at the pc req's for rs and compare that way.
And you can find all the info you want at   www.raven-shield.com

but the minimum req. for PC worked better then the the minimun for mac.

So if u want to play it in descent speed u will need more then 700Mhz G4 - U will also need a highend GFX.

But we will all see. if it comes out  Huh

Eventually we will see it. But as Mauti has stated before we need to wait for the pc expansion pack to be released, that's when they usually port the mac version..ie: Rainbow Six:Eagle Watch, Rogue Spear:Urban Ops, Raven Shield:Athena Sword. The expansion is set to be released this fall, Mauti thinks we will see the demo in November and the full version probably not until January 2004. But that's just a guess, hopefully we get it sooner but Id rather have them have all the bugs worked out of it than release a beta mac version like they did for pc users.

And the only official Mac release will be seen on the link I posted before, that is the Raven Shield official site, so when it starts to develop for mac, they will post it like they have for the Xbox. Those Xbox screenies look tight as hell though, and of course chalk up another one for me..cuz I have a ps2. Bah Humdillyumbug!

Ah, don't worry. Judging by the past history of Red Storm ports, the Mac version will be released as a beta too.

i think you mean beta quality.  if it's actually released as a beta, they are going to improve it at some point

Sounds about right, to run it on low graphics settings.

To run mid or higher graphics settings, depending on how well optimized it is, you'll probably want at least an 800 G4, 512 RAM, and a 64MB graphics card.

If I'm not mistaken, RvS runs on the same engine as UT2k3, so if you can run UT2k3 decently, you should be fine with RvS.

My framerates in UT 2003 leave a lot to be desired ( it might have something to do with the fact that I refuse to change the graphics settings - I like everything at highest ).

My laptop ( 1GHZ Powerbook G4, 1Gig RAM, 64MB ATI Radeon 9000 Pro ) gets 20-30 FPS in UT 2003 with everything on highest, running at 1280 x 1024 ( fuck UT 2003's lack of wide screen resolutions ).

Oddly enough, even my 867 G4 ( 1Gig RAM ), which has a 128MB NVIDIA Geforce 4 gets much the same framerates.

Ahh! Why can't it all be as optimized as RTCW?!

RvS does not run on the same Engine as UT2003

There are two engine made by Epic

UT2003
and Unreal II

RvS uses the Unreal II engine - this need more performence and more powerfull Computers and GFX.

@Typhy - the GFX in your PowerBook 1Ghz isnt a 9000Pro - it is a normal 9000.
ATI never made a mobile 9000Pro chip.

As far as I know Raven Shield uses the Epic Unreal Warfare engine as America's Army does and as UT 2003 does! That was the reason why Ryan Gordon could port America's Army that close behind UT 2003!

Bye,

Holo,

The 9000 is a 32MB graphics card. The 9000 Pro is the 64MB model of that.
