Actually, Jeb, that is quite useful sometimes. mlMac uses lots of processor, so my framerats in games like MOH will drop to about 50FPS when I have it on, so I just force quit it - Leaves the downloads going, but frees up the processor.

i'm a fan of not having daemon's downloading shit, or uploading stuff while i don't know about it, so i think i'll stay away from mlMac (except for porn).
I can't believe i forgot to mention bittorrent, which was a new wave in piracy. If you want to download Divxs and/or other large diskimage type files use it. Its not really a p2p program, its a way of distributing huge files quickly without a central server. So anyone who is downloading is also uploading to other people. Basically i downloaded the Hulk (1.4gigs) in 6 hours last week because the speed is increased by the load distribution.
This is a good site to get you started.

I've got mine set to only upload at 4kb/sec, which doesn't effect anything. If you want it to not do anything, just log out and log back in again.

Well id recommend Aquisition.. its a beuaty and although its still using the limewire servers... it is a lovely app and does come up with the goods. Another good one if your patient is NEO - basically a Grunt for Kazza servers... Huge ammounts of shit pc software clogging it up.. but lots of music etc.. Takes a while for it to force in each server.. but agian it can certainly come up with the goods!

i mostly use mldonkey 'cause there you can get almost everything. even Maya and new mac games like UT2k3 are no problem to find, althought it takes some times to get them. BitTorrent is also quite good, but unfortunately there are many leechers and few servers. For mp3's xNap is very nice. Takes some time to find stuff too, but there are many titles available.
