AK Topic Ban

Grifter, one thing that made me want to let AK bargin is that there is no specific thing where I can say this is why you are being punished.  With CIA you had proof of cheating, with AK all that can really be shown is they are complaining a lot, and being complained about a lot.  So I thought there was certainly reason to let AK accept a modified penalty.

Gorf, your reply just proves my point.  Cossak says a perfectly calm thing, so what if he said something that may be naive thinking AK is popular because of the controversy, but the way you replied was not called for and it is that kind of reply (drawing a more hostlile reply from Cossak) that needs to be avoided.  Also Gorf, Rapid didn't start any of the arguments in General Gossip (except the one moved from the BL forums) he was always the one being attacked first.  He didn't handle himself well in responding, but you can't fault him when everyone is making fun of his clan

About not asking the other moderators, I would expect all of you to be able to make a decision like this without consulting me.  I didn't think it was large enough an issue (like suspending a clan is to the BL mods) that would actually need to be wrong, but I guess I was wrong.  See you seem to think it was out of me thinking I'm the top moderator, it was purely because I was a moderator and thoght I had some initiative to make a rule to improve the DAMN community.  Seeing as the two of you find it egregious, I have no choice but not to follow through on the ban.  I'm sorry for AK as I think it has gotten out of hand and I as well grew tired as hell reading people bashing AK pointlessly.

Cow, I can't tell right now if the bargin will work as I'm mired in the buerecratic bog.  Some are sticking by their guns on the suspension so it may end up happening.  About the forums, it is clear that that was overturned.  But I might ask Ace and Grifter to consider being stricter on completely hostile posts against any clan.  Also, as Rapid has decided to, maybe he should continue to stay away from this nuthouse (I say this lovingly as my post count shows I'm the biggest nut of the bunch).  Anyway, at the moment AK is not on penalty due to the discussion, when something is firmly decided we will inform you.

I'm for a suspension and I am rather sure that Ult and nix would be for one too. If you don't call it Bondo, we may.

They are lucky just to get suspended if you think about it. Mauti, in his post in the BL news wanted AK to stop the harrassment and stop causing problems. Mauti threatened them with a ban if they continued, and a suspension would keep them in check. No offense cow, but I don't buy AK doing a "scouts honor" withdrawl and change of attitude towards other clans. A suspension would hold them accountable and is probably the only way to make this circus end quietly.

The last rule in bold red: ATTENTION CONSEQUENCES FOR UNACCEPTABLE BEHAVIOUR: *DAMN preserves the right to ban any clan which acts unacceptably from the *DAMN BattleLeague.

Most of the problems with AK were before Cow joined, and Cow with his experience from SBR can help right the ship.  And IMO AK has already made great strides to improve.  So I don't think the suspension is necessary.  I think we need to give them a chance with Cow''s support to become a honorable clan.

I read Mauti's post and to me it doesn't look like he is explicitly threatening them with a ban. More like a friendly reminder from our favorite uber-admin/website guru that they need to clean things up.

Even if they were to get banned from the BL, I believe this is irrelevant to their standing of posting in the General Gossip forums. With the exception of Rapid, it seems to me like the members of AK don't cross any lines. Rapid has grown incredibly annoying, but I don't think even he has earned a ban yet. Hell, we let Rom post forever.

So until further notice, AK is free to participate in the General Gossip forums. If it continues to get worse, we will look at it later, but for now just go on with business as usual.

First of all Bondo, saying that a topic is banned from discussion is a big deal.  

Second, banning people from talking in the General Gossip is a big deal.

Yes, I think that things that are important like that should be discussed... it's not taking action against one poster... but setting policy.  No talk about AK is policy.

Not allowing AK to post hurts them more then it helps them (imho).  Cossak and Cow have made some good points.  Also, I think you are doing the same thing as Rapid.... confusing bashing on him with bashing AK the clan.  Almost all the treads about AK bash Rapid and not the clan as a whole... I, being one of the bashers, have even stuck up for the clan.

As for Rapid leaving the forums.... I understand Ace's confusion, since you said they were banned from posting instead of being suspended.  To Ace's point... the BL issues shouldn't effect this forum (unless it's something huge).  Like he said, even Rom, who was kicked from the BL was still allowed to post (still is I believe).

As for the suspension itself... I'm still clueless as to what it's all about.  I don't know if they should or shouldn't be suspended, because I don't know what you suspended them for.  I'm just taking the word of the BL moderators that they do (that includes you).  

As for making a decision on your own... think about this...  if you had talked to us first, none of this would have happened... we would have worked something out to bring the bashing down without banning topics or people from the forum.  Like I said, yes, things are a bit out of hand... but I don't agree with imposing a ban on who can post, or what can be talked about in the forum where everything is on topic.

AK was going to be suspended because they had a unusually high number of complaints from and against them.  But after talking with Cow I think they truly are turning a new leaf and I no longer thought the suspension was needed.  So with Cow and Rapid I worked out this bargin (plea bargining is common in court) and while things have changed I still don't think they need a suspension.  If it is any evidence, the AK bashing has been essentially non-existant except for Gorf.  So that is why I don't think the suspension needs to be imposed.

Gorf, the BCS has a staff of people working full time to make it work and it still doesn't, give us a break.  Also, we are always fine tuning it.  For example with giving negative points for losses, we take things step by step to make it better.

And despite your intentions in insulting AK, you were bashing them.  I do think I've gotten the point across to AK so if that is your requirement then I guess you should accept what has been done.  And I would have CBed AK but unfortunately my teammate went out and broke his arm (great job Zomar  )

Gorf you should stop talking about AK its really not getting you anywhere.  No one from AK wants to listen to you and no one from AK wants to talk to you and I am pretty sure Bondo is getting sick of your talk as well.  You have done everything you wanted, bashed AK, rip on AK, and say we cheat.  What else are you trying to accomplish?

Has anyone else realized what's happened here? Bondo..you started yet another AK thread. Do we really need any more? I'd like to propose the solution of maybe having ONE thread devoted entirely to AK, and everything related to that clan, including fighting, complaining, bashing, etc, should be allowed in that ONE thread. Does anyone else think that this is a reasonable idea?
