Mauti: regarding Mods. and patches/versions

I believe from a previous post made by Mauti and my growing experience that many mod problems have to do with some mods being updated for the Ghost Recon Patch and some not. Of course we now have the Island Thunder issue as well.
I am hoping that Mauti can give us some detail on this subject. I was also wondering if it might be posible to mark mods. in the download area according to whether or not they are upgraded or not. It would seem that many problems could be avoided if the Mods section cautioned people about requirements of the Mods and labeled or catagorized them.I realize that Mauti is marking the IT required Mods, so I think the main qualifying information missing is whether the Mod was writtten for the Patch or upgraded for the Patch or not. I stand ready to help in any way I can. Would an email to the various Mod developers inquiring whether or not their Mod is upgraded help?
The problem I have pretty consistantly with some mods apparently has to do with incomplete Specialist and or Mission information causing Ghost Recon to crash between Missions. I often see evidence of this in the form of incomplete Specialist information betweeen missions. Frequently Specialists have no names and do not show up visually when they are added to squads. I have seen several post in this Forum that seem to relate to this issue. I am also wondering if this problem is peculiar to or more prevalent in the Mac environment? Maybe PC Moders are unaware of this issue in the Mac environment?
Thanks for any comments, advice or other help you can provide Mauti. If there is anything I can do....

Hi,
well the problem isn't only a Mac issue. That's why many PC server still use the 1.3 patch and not the 1.4 patch. The only way you can filter out older mods is if you look at the mod info and compare the date when it was added with the patch release date. As far as I know mainly mods with specialists or mission mods with some specific scripting conditions tend to crash. Weapon mods or most new levels aren't affected.
Have a nice day,
Mauti
