It was 12:18 pm, i was on my brothers house on his ibook, then i went to the construct and then i asked where i could download UT full (not the demo) and then poof!!    banned for pirating. =(

Okay, There are people with banning power in the Construct, I know who they are however I can't say. Gameranger can auto ban people for: Chat Flooding, Typing in Caps. Game flooding etc.  However it doesn't permainate ban. With Scott not around the only thing that you really can't do is ask for pirated software,  For any other bans we have to get Scott's OK, however for pirating we can just ban you.

I do have one more gripe with Evill there...  I've seen him ban people just for mentioning Hotline, posting that they have a server, or asking for a good one... his excuse, Hotline is just a bunch of warez.  Well, there is a bunch... but not 100%.

Well, as anyone can see we used a "hotline" like program to play when Hotline was down.. and I'd dare say that nobody downloaded any warez from my server this weekend.  Not that I'm a hypocrite about it... I still have my universe is shareware point of view...  I just don't share with people that I don't trust have the same view.

hell i run a hotline server with alot of RS mods on it just so ppl dont have to use bile planet all the time. does that make it a warez site?  If it does, then the damn is too.

and about your universe is shareware theory grifter, i couldnt agree with you more.
hell why should i pay 40 bucks to see if i like a game or not.(my preferred method is to try to find someone else who has the game and play it on their comp. then if i like the game go out and buy it) damnit, why cant all manufactures make demos...

Typhy, the other admins on GR can ban for more than pirating when Evill isnt there. To name one, impersonation.

Also, the identities of the other admins aren't a secret...

As for you tards who think everything is a permaban, you wont get one unless you step over the edge and call Scott (Evill) some nasty insult or something personal.

Why is the word Hotline a bad word on GR.. ie illegal on GR?  That's the question.

Nobody here is questioning that Punisher was a dumbass on that ban.  But I've seen people banned just for saying Hotline (not perma banned.. but 24 hours).

I don't get it when everyone says "If you say Hotline, you get banned." That's a load of horseshit. I spent my fair share of time in the main chat. I even said Hotline more than a few times. I never got banned. Of course if you are asking where you can find warez on Hotline you will get banned. Evill isn't as big of a Nazi as you all make him out to be, although some of his cronies are.

am i the only one who's talked about warez on GR without gettin banned? maybes it's because i've only done in in games rooms or private messages, because i'm not stupid enough to go into the construct and ask for a piece of warez software. I mean, c'mon ppl, THINK a lil. you just do go in front of an admin and do something against the rules, you do it when they're not looking. sheesh. i've use dthe name of practically every single warez program out there, and i've never been banned for more than 30.

Ace, a few months back I saw a guy put a hotline IP in a game title and get banned so quick I thought it was a bot ban.

I've also seen guys just say Hotline and get banned.  I also saw Evill say that if you used Hotline you were a pirate (not a direct quote) when talking to someone that didn't think the ban was fair.  That was a long time ago, back when we used to be in the Construct...  it was one more reason to get out of there and into the Apple Cubicle.
