It's all PHP scripts.  PHP is another server side scripting language like Applescript or PERL.  I know Elandrion did most of the scripting (I'm pretty sure Mauti did some as well).  (yes, a simple answer to a simple question.. I'm trying)

And since they are using PHP, I would guess/assume they are using MySQL for a database.

If they are using a database, that would be my bet.

But I do know a whole auction site that uses PHP and flat files (kinda the way that these forums use PERL and flat files with no database).
