I have just played Ghost Recon and I really don't like it. Which made me wonder how many RS players do?
Thanks for the vote

I prefer GhR because it works in OSX and the graphics are way better. I'd play RS more if it was for OSX though, it's just a pain to restart into OS9 all the time. I also like the gameplay of GhR more than I like the RS gameplay, but I'd really like some more cqb maps where those cc weapons (MP5 etc.) could come in handy (this is why I love de_dust for GhR).

As everyone knows I was never such a fan of RS because I missed the R6 action. However RS - GR ->in my opinion your mac plays an important role. On my old 400iMac it runs ok if you never see the game on a dual 867or higher. The Gr single player was amazing. The campaign was much better than the RS one. However in mp I would prefer RS because it runs better. I still play GR in mp but once I played it on Banders 867 I only see how jerky it runs. On Banders mac it was a fantastic experience but on my imac bah. GR is the first game I know that makes use of high resolutions. Well I guess many RS players doesn't like that much but I wouldn't see GR as sequel(at all it isn't a sequel Raven Shield is the sequel to RS) it is another tactical Tom Clancy Shooter but thats it. I play both games and about campaigns; there are so many great mod campaigns for RS that will keep you playing RS forever hehe. - Black Hawk Down, the amazing and very difficult Rogue Warrior mod, Unsancted missions, Temporary Tango Mod and many many more.
Ghost Recon is more about military tactics @ huge outdoor maps contrary to RS which is more about CQC. At all I like both games. Each game has its pros and cons?
Good night,
Mauti

I prefer RS, I dont like the camping spots in GhR where all you do is stand there and get lods of kills. In RS it may not be realistic but I like the fast pace easy-to-kill campers style games. The only part about RS I dont like about it is there is too many glithes. It does not hurt my liking to RS a bit though.

Ahaha. Matt, r6 is faster paced and easier-to-kill-campers too..
I say R6 should be added to the poll, because r6 is teh shit!

I chose rogue spear because ghost recon is just too much camp&snipe for my blood i can see how some people would like it more (the campers in RS) but i like RS better

I ACCIDENTALLY chose RS, but I personally prefer Ghost Recon over it. Ghost Recon doesn't have the constant bsing, and also has the respawn ability, and new game features (Hamburger Hill, Seige). There may be camping in it, but there is also camping in RS. Also, GhR is not meant to be the same gamestyle as RS, hence the bigger maps.

I much prefer GhR... although it is a tad sluggish on my 600mhz g3, i like the fact that the combat involved in GhR requires more smarts and a keen eye then luck. In GhR u have to search for ur opponent, and its usually first shot kills; if u miss with ur first shot u can be lunch meat, it raises the stakes on accuracy which is ALOT more realistic. Also it i love the open levels, im not too sure why but its great to have an open level rather then being boxed in by bed-sheets (u R6 players know what im talking about) and the fact that there is more places to move around. There are advantages to RS however, and i do somewhat reqret deleting RS. Such as the funny MPBounds and C4 campin n such, i miss playing CSL very much. One thing i GREATLY dislike about GhR is the weapon set-up. it is very bad, u have to cycle through 20 slots and their are only 5 different guns. the set up (one prim slot, one sec slot, and two kits) in RS was MUCH better.

hmm, rs vs. ghr.
Personally, I like both games, but one more than the other, here is why.....
Rogue Spear:
The game is mostly cqc, aside from a couuple big maps. CQC = not looking around for an enemy for 10 minutes, than getting shot in the back or the side, without even seeing who killed you (in rs, this could be jeb
)
I also like the fact that the game is a lot more reliant on your aim, then strategy. Don't get me wrong, strategy is and can be important in rs, but more often in the hihgher skilled players or clans (i.e. virus on Canals of venice...lol)
Also, the fact you dont have to wait 15 minutes to join a game, like in GhR, if the limit is set to some long time....ugh..
And OMG, one of my personal favorites, rushing! This is something you cannot do consistently in ghr, although i've tried it a couple times. Rushing is definitly unique to rs, and something i'm sure every misses.
The lag in rogue spear is definitly a down fall, its probably one of the laggiest games in general, i have played. This being mostly because its based on whatever engine Red Storm made, unlike just about....every other game, which is on the Q3 or UT engine, which are both very good.
The graphics in RS, well, aren't the best at all, especially when you have played the newest games like UT2003. But that doesen't hold me back, maybe its just the feel of getting a 9mm headshot on some noob with a g3a3, those are my thoughts in rs, if i forgot any...oops!
GhR:
What can I say, the graphics are significantlly better than rs, and that's always a plus. A good thing put in the game is the ability to see your teammate's name above their head or as you move your reticule over him. That helps teamwork very much. When in rs, you cant alwasy rely on looking at your radar, espically if hes all the way across the map.
This game, as i'm sure is obvious, is almost completely strategy, aside from a few other small factors. You cant be stupid, and expect to rush in, like with an AK47 in rs, and actually get kills. You will be picked off very quickly.
It also has much better teamwork invloved, this will be very helpful in clan battles, which I'm sure are coming to soon to the bl.
I dont like the fact of waitign 15 mins, and the threat indicator, can either be good or bad, sometimes it can be very cheap, but its....uh....no comment. And also, lag is very minimal in this game, except a couple times when i played on Nixon's(he was probably drunk) host
Overall, they are both really good games, and worth getting, but the biggest thing I can see between them, that makes my decision, is the gameplay. This is your own opinion, as some people prefer close quarters and some prefer far away, more strategic games. In my opinion, I think rogue spear is better, because I enjoy cqc, up close, fast games, rushing, and headshots in rs........
I hope you have learned something in this post, if not..then...well shucks.

I would vote for Ghost Recon, because I am a fan of strategy. Rushing can work in ghost recon, such as urban maps. A word from the wise, it is better to walk than run in alleyways such as embassy. The only downside of a GhR game are the long waits, thats why when I host I ussualy put it at 10 minutes instead of 15 minutes. Sometimes I will play RS while I am waiting for the GhR game to open up. It also depends what mood I am in. If I am pissed off and dont have alot of patience I will go to RS.
Strategy is everything to me, this is why I like GhR. I do not camp that much in GhR either. For instance in seige mode, I will stand in a spot very quietly and wait for the enemy to pass over me. And of coarse there is always the hit the floor when you see the enemy routine.

As much as i've enjoyed playing RS in the past i like GHR much better.
I mainly stoped playing RS because it became really boring, even things like offensive C4ing, Camping, and even the imfamous Glitch Master Team became boring.
GHR on the otherhand is challenging, i get the same thrill playing GHR as i have from paintballing. It requires stratagy, teamwork and coverfire much like real warfair. RS is a game of who can rush the fastest and who has been acused of cheating the most for having a great aim.

About RS being more rushing 'n all, that's obviously true... but GhR can have a lot of CQC as well if you just choose the right maps (such as de_dust, which is my fav map). CQC in GhR is just so damn fun imo
